1st Place: Timothy Grant Death Guard Army Lists

This wasn’t a sprint. This was a decay marathon, and the finish line was a pile of defeated armies. The Death Guard list that stomped the Tacoma Open Prep GT didn’t win with flair—it won with filth, patience, and just the right amount of rot.

The brain trust consisted of a Putrifier, a Foul Blightspawn, two Plaguecasters, and a Tallyman. One spreads the plague, one melts anything that charges, two throw out mortal wounds, and one counts bullets like a particularly bloated accountant. Behind them, Typhus and a Lord of Contagion handled the face-punching with rusty grace.

Two units of Plague Marines loaded into Rhinos pushed forward early to plant flags and dare anyone to move them.

Deathshroud Terminators handled bodyguard duty with scythes in hand, or dropped into enemy lines depending.

Three Bloat Drones zipped around, launching plagues across the board like toxic lawn sprinklers. Not fast by most standards—but when everything else waddles, they looked like fighter jets. A lone Blight-Hauler backed them up, proving small tanks with bad attitudes still matter.

Two blobs of Poxwalkers shuffled forward like unpaid interns in a zombie office party. They took hits, tied things up, and generally existed to make life annoying for anything trying to get cute with movement tricks.

Final Thoughts From Us:

table tournament warhammer 40k players engaged

In the grand showdown of the Tacoma Open Prep GT, the Death Guard turned the battlefield into a slow-motion horror show, while the Imperial Knights rolled in with their towering might and a penchant for big stomps.

Meanwhile, the Emperor’s Children brought their flair and finesse, proving that looking good while winning is indeed a winning strategy. Each faction proved that distinct strengths can lead to victory in the competitive meta of Warhammer 40k.

If you’re planning to play in the next big tournament or just looking to spice up your games at home, take a page from these winners and remember: every unit counts, and sometimes, all you need is a good plan and a whole lot of models.
