Editor’s Note: Death Guard were NERRFed between the event and now, so today we will be covering the second-place list from Space Wolves
2nd Place: Forrest Phanton, Space Wolves (Space Marines) Army Lists
The sons of Russ showed up to the Hammer of Wrath GT as if it were the Great Hunt itself. And while they didn’t walk off with the win, second place never looked so wild. This list didn’t require psychic tricks or advanced technology. It needed wolves. Lots of them. And a knight.
It started with Logan Grimnar himself, axe in hand, riding his twin wolves Tyrnak and Fenrir like a true space-faring barbarian king. He brought the authority, the re-rolls, and the sheer refusal to lose a duel. Backing him was a Lieutenant with a combi-weapon and paired blades because it’s always good to have a guy for stabbing and shooting.
Two Scout Squads brought utility, objectives, and just enough special weapons to be annoying. You don’t expect missile launchers and sniper rifles to show up out of the same five-man unit, but here we are.
Then came the furballs.
Three squads of Thunderwolf Cavalry. That’s eighteen angry space marines riding genetically-engineered murder puppies, all kitted with storm shields and custom weapons. They hit hard, they tank wounds. No subtlety, just speed and violence. If it moves, they charge it. If it survives, they charge again.
And if the wolves weren’t enough? Three Vindicators rolled up behind them. Each one packing a demolisher cannon, hunter-killer missile, and the kind of bad attitude only an armored siege tank can pull off. Not a lot survives a direct hit from one of those. Even fewer survive three.
But wait, there’s more! Canis Rex dropped in as an allied Knight and said, “Hi, I brought a las-impulsor the size of a Rhino.” Freedom’s Hand did the punching, the Chainbreaker did the shooting. Keep in mind that his new points are now 35 higher.
3rd Place: Zayd Alshoushi, Necrons Army Lists
4th Place: David Labovitch, Dark Angels (Space Marines) Army Lists
Final Thoughts From Us
So overall, Space Wolves charged into second with claws out, Necrons did their slow-motion terminator walk into third, and the Dark Angels quietly judged everyone from fourth place.
The Hammer of Wrath GT didn’t disappoint, especially if you’re hunting for list inspiration or just like seeing what works when the dice really matter. Whether you’re Team Wolf, Tomb King 2.0, or an emo-robed secret club, there’s plenty to chew on here.
