Warcolours Halloween Sale: Get 20% Off & Free Paint Deal

warcolour sale

Warcolours is knocking 20% off its effects paints for Halloween, and every order from October 29 to 31 gets a free orange paint thrown in.

Free paint with every order? Yeah, that’s enough to get us hooked. The freebie is a bottle of Antithesis, Warcolours’ take on contrast-style paints, and you get one with every order, whether you’re buying effects paints or not. Even if you’re just restocking one bottle, you’re getting something extra. Plus, between pumpkins, flames, and glow effects, it’s not like orange is going to sit around collecting dust.

The sale runs Thursday, October 29, through Saturday, October 31, and code BOO20 gets you 20% off the entire effects range. We’re talking fluorescents, pearlescents, gem paints, glazes, green glow-in-the-dark paint, and OSL ink. Individual bottles and select bundles are included, too. Since 20% is a pretty huge discount, we’d probably grab the bundles to save more.

ARTICLE SUMMARY:
  • Free orange Antithesis: every order from October 29 to 31 gets one, whatever else is in the cart.
  • BOO20 code: 20% off all effects paints and select sets, but it won’t stack with the 15% welcome discount.
  • Cyprus shipping: orders ship from Cyprus, so nothing lands before Halloween.

BOO20 Won’t Stack, But the Sale is Still Great

Warcolour Halloween SaleThere are a couple of catches here, but nothing too bad. You can’t stack BOO20 with the 15% welcome discount, so if you’re ordering for the first time, you won’t be able to use both on the same cart. It might actually make more sense to place one order for regular paints with the welcome discount, then a separate one for effects paints using BOO20. Either way, 20% off plus a free bottle of paint is a great deal.

One other thing to keep in mind: Warcolours ships from Cyprus, so don’t expect anything from this sale to show up before Halloween. Think of this as a chance to stock up for winter, not a last-minute paint run for your Halloween project. Let’s look at the bundles and see where the savings are.

The Fluorescent Set: €19.90 (non-sale price)

Warcolours Fluorescent Paint SetIf you’ve got a glow project sitting in your pile of shame, this is the easiest way to knock it out. The Fluorescent Paint Set comes with seven colors: Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Pink, and Violet, all in 15ml dropper bottles. And instead of the thin, watery stuff you usually get with fluorescents, these use a non-separating gel formula.

That gel dries a little slower, which is nice when you’re trying to blend a glow into the darker areas around it. You’ve got some time to work the paint before it dries, rather than rushing to get everything looking right.

The paints also dry matte, and that’s a bigger deal than you might think. A glossy glow can sometimes look like you’ve just left a wet blob of paint on the miniature. A matte finish helps it look more like actual light. They’re also made to pop under a UV lamp, though you don’t need one to use them.

Gem and Pearl Paints: €17.90 (non-sale price)

Warcolours Gem Paint SetYou know those tiny gems that somehow take longer to paint than half the model? That’s what the Gem Paint Set is trying to help with. You get six colors: Citrine, Emerald, Turquoise, Sapphire, Amethyst, and Ruby. They’re glossy gel paints designed to give you that rounded, jewel-like depth in one application, instead of spending ages building up little transparent layers.

Now, you still need a properly prepared basecoat underneath. These aren’t magic paints that let you skip all the prep work. But if you’re painting Eldar spirit stones, gemstones on fantasy heroes, or jewelry on fancy armor, getting that effect in one pass sounds pretty good compared to painting a bunch of tiny highlights.

The Pearlescent Paint Set: €14.90 (non-sale price)

Warcolours Pearlescent SetThen there’s the five-bottle Pearlescent Paint Set, which looks like it’d be fun to experiment with. You get Pearl Yellow, Red, Blue, Violet, and Green, all using that same non-separating gel formula. They dry to a smooth satin finish, and the color changes depending on the viewing angle and how the light hits them.

Here’s where things get interesting, though. Put one over a black basecoat, and it’ll look different than it does over white. If you’ve messed around with color shift paints before, you know the drill.

The Full Glaze Set: €47.90 (non-sale price)

Glaze Full SetNow, this might actually be the set that gets the most use on your painting desk. The Full Glaze Set comes with all 20 colors in the Warcolours glaze range, including flesh tones, browns, greens, blues, violets, greys, and more.

These are thin, low-viscosity paints that stay transparent, so you’re not covering up the color you’ve already painted. You’re just shifting it a little with each pass. Need something a bit warmer? A little darker? That’s where glazes come in handy.

And that’s why glazing is something you’ll probably end up using all the time. You can warm up skin tones, add a tint to metallic armor, build up shadows, or smooth out a color transition without having to repaint a whole section of the model.

Is it as exciting as a plasma gun glowing across the tabletop? Maybe not. But we’d bet this is the set you’d still be reaching for come March.

Final Thoughts on the Warcolours Halloween Sale

Individual Warcolours PaintsYou’ve only got a few days to jump on this one, and BOO20 goes away when Saturday, October 31, ends. So if you’ve been eyeing the fluorescents or thinking about picking up the full glaze set, now might be a good time to finally grab them. And hey, that free orange paint comes along for the ride no matter what you order.

We’re curious to see if Warcolours does the free-paint-with-every-order thing again for the holiday sales. It’s a pretty nice little bonus, and we definitely wouldn’t complain about seeing more of it.
