Hard Plastic Glue That Actually Behaves

wargame atlantic glue product shot

Ditch superglue on HIPS kits. New Wargames Atlantic Hard Plastic Solvent glue welds parts, strengthens joins, and helps smooth seams with a brush.

If you build hard plastic wargaming kits (AKA almost all of tabletop miniature kits) and still grab superglue out of habit, you’re basically volunteering for heartbreak. You know the scene: the arm pops off mid-game, the banner snaps in the case, and suddenly your “quick build” becomes a repair project.

Wargames Atlantic’s new Hard Plastic Solvent is made for hard plastic (High Impact Polystyrene, or HIPS), which is what their kits use, and most things out there. Instead of just sticking two parts together like superglue, a plastic solvent cement actually softens the plastic and fuses the pieces into one as it cures.

That means stronger joints, fewer breakages, and less time chasing tiny bits across the floor.

Wargames Atlantic Hard Plastic Solvent

  • 30ml bottle
  • Precision brush applicator

Don’t superglue hard plastic minis. Seriously.

Superglue works by bonding surfaces. On hard plastic, that bond can be brittle, especially on skinny contact points like wrists, weapons, and shoulder joints. Solvent glue is different. It creates a weld. When it sets, the seam is no longer “glue holding two parts.” It is plastic that has reformed into a single piece.

The Brush Applicator Is the Secret Weapon

This comes in a 30ml bottle with a precision brush applicator. Some folks love the brush, some do not, but it is great for one big reason: control. It helps you use the right amount instead of drowning parts like a “squeeze bottle” does.

Bonus trick: once parts are joined, a light touch of solvent along the seam can help smooth join lines, especially around areas like an arm meeting a shoulder. Go easy. You want “clean seam,” not “melted detail.”

It also looks like there’s a peel off label so you can accurately see the level inside the bottle, and know when to buy more. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve used another brand’s solvent and never the actual amount of liquid left inside.

Final Thoughts From Us On Wargames Atlantic  Glue

If you build hard plastic kits, this is the glue that makes your models sturdier, your seams cleaner, and your builds less annoying. So if you want a better hobby glue for hard-plastic models that stands up to real use, this solvent is the “pro” move.
