The new Grey Knights Combat Patrol box contains a decent number of miniatures, but what kind of value is inside the box?
Remember these are mostly designed for new players to the factions just like the current Start Collecting Sets that GW introduced back in 2016. They are being marketed as a quick way to get a small force on the table and play some small games right away.
Most times the starter-style kits are a pretty good value, so even if you have some Grey Knights already, this could be a decent value. GW just also confirmed that this will finally hit shelves in March.
This box looks to be coming out hopefully soon as the codex has already been released, so you might want to read the book first to make sure you want the units inside! Let’s check out the value.
Grey Knights Combat Patrol: What is the Value?
The Grey Knights one is pretty similar to the Hexfire box, so if you grabbed that one this might still have some value for you. Because who doesn’t need more minis and they switched out the Crowe for the Terminators. So some pretty decent stuff overall.
Don’t forget the Combat patrol boxes will now cost $150 starting on March 7th, 2021.
This breakdown at least gives us a good idea of the approximate savings for the first round of Battleforces announced in 2022.
- Terminator Squad: $54
- Dreadknight: $65
- 5x Strike Squad: $40 ($65 for 10)
- Librarian: $35
Total Value: $194
Savings Versus Box Price: $44
Is The Grey Knights Combat Patrol Worth It?
This one has such small value on it, let’s hope they lower the price on this or maybe up the number of models inside before it comes out. They generally shoot for value around $70-$80 so at $40 this is really low.
Still, if you need the models inside then it does save you some cash and will get you a lot of minis for less than the face value.
Also, GW mentioned the Thousand Sons and the Grey Knights boxes will hit shelves in March 2022, so look for those very soon!
