Top 10 FAQ Changes To Forge World 40k Knights

Don’t miss the top 10 biggest rules changes to Forge World’s Knights for Warhammer 40k, as we take a look at the latest on all the classes!

And just like that new rules are here for not just Loyalist, but also Renegade Knights from Forge World. Warhammer Community announced two new updates to Knights and dropped a quick Chaos Knight FAQ recently. Now it’s time to break it all down and see what it may mean for the tabletop!

Chaos Knights FAQ:

The next update is a new FAQ and errata that tidies up a couple of common rules queries.  For example, the Teeth That Hunger and the Gauntlet of Ascension now function with the horrifying Knight Despoiler as intended. Chances are, if you’ve had a question about the new codex, it’s answered in here.

One big takeaway seemed to be perils on doubles instead of what the book had read, which in essence may not happen as much at only 12″. But hey it could…

Forge World Knight Changes:

knight family forgeworld

So first off all the Forge World Knights for both Acastus, and Cerastus classes now get <Questoris Traitoris> keywords- meaning you can take them in your Chaos Knight detachments now!

All of the Knights points levels stayed the same for both factions, and any knight that had wound regeneration, has now lost that ability.

Plus new options for Moirax Amigers (and War Dogs) that are coming soon from Forge World were included in the update.

Cerastus Knight Changes:

Cerastus Knights are no longer as nimble as before and have lost the 2D6 advance ability.

Fan-favorite Lancer saw its shock lance profile changed in melee to a double-strength bonus on a change (to 16) with 8 damage at the normal -4 AP. With 4 attacks, the change is where this guy does work, keep him moving as fast as you can now!

atrapos forge world

The Atrapos, previously a semi-match to the Dominus class, now has a 5+ invul, where previously it had a 4+.  Its weapons have changed some to be a little more predictable, with the Graviton getting two dedicated profiles:

The melee stayed the same sans losing the bonus against BUILDING keyword.

Forge World’s Acheron seems fun now in the Chaos variety and now is no longer -1 to hit with its massive Chainfist.

Folks may be jumping on the Castigator bandwagon however, as this model seems to be the clear winner of the Cerastus family.  Its bold cannon gained two shots (up to 16), and its warblade just went Super-Saiyan.

Still strength 14, but now with 8 big attacks at 3 damage (down from 5)!

Acastus Knight Changes:

Last but certainly not least are the new Acastus knights from Forge World. Down one Toughness (to 8) this class also just got a bracket update that may hamper their effectiveness on the battlefield.

Porphyrion rules

Now WS 4 and BS 3, for 16 wounds these seem to have lost a step from their previous WS 3, BS2 profile. the Porphyrion can, however, fire its main gun in overwatch now.

Armiger Moriax Knights in 40k:

Knight Moirax armiger

Don’t miss Forge World’s new Armiger Knight rules for both Imperial and Chaos forces, as GW is making Knights great once again!

As of this writing, the iOS versions of the Imperial Armour books had not been updated past the May 15th BIG update.

Boom goes the Forge World dynamite. So which of these changes do you like the most? Will you be adding a resin knight to your 40k army after these updates?
