With the new Dark Imperium kit out Kenny thought it was time to paint up one of those super cool new Space Marine Captains in Gravis Armor!

Welcome back hobby maniacs! Today Kenny Boucher is here to show us how to paint one of the new Primaris Space Marine Captains in a pre-Heresy color scheme!

Continuing with the Nurgle theme from the Death Guard Kenny painted him up with some awesome pre-Heresy Death Guard colors!

Kenny begins by laying down a couple of super smooth and thin layers of grey primer to help the colors on the model to pop.  After the primer he gives the model another thin layer of an off white to begin the armor panels.

Base White

Once the panels are properly highlighted, Kenny coats the model with some gloss varnish and then applies a black wash to the whole thing.  This softer black shade creates lots of dynamic contrast in the recesses of the model without too badly shading the wide flat surfaces of his armor.

Black Wash

After some quick airbrush taps to smooth back out some of the armor panels its time to start painting some details!

With all the details blocked out Kenny lays down a couple of washes and some final highlights to round out the model!
