GW dropped a bomb this morning with word that the Warlord Traits in the codex were just corrected. Be sure to check the updated version now.

Warhammer Community announced that they had made a correction last minute to the Space Wolves codex but not in time to correct all of the English copies of the book. You can check out the updated Warlord Traits found in the codex here.

The Old Warlord Traits Vs. New

Warlords have to perform the listed Deed of Legend, to switch on the trait to become an Aura effect (for some pretty nifty results):

saga of the space wolves

Saga of the Wolfkin: Warlord, Wulfen, Beasts, and Cavalry units can make an additional attack in a turn where they charged while within 6″ of your Warlord. They also are immune to taking morale tests.

Saga of the Warrior Born: Always choose your warlord to fight first in the fight phase

SW warlord trait 2

Saga of the Hunter: Add 2 to saving throws when your Warlord is getting the benefit of cover. The Warlord can also advance and charge in the same turn.

SW warlord trait 1

Saga of Majesty: Friendly Space Wolves units within 12″ of the Warlord don’t have to take Morale Tests.

Looking at the saga of the Wolfkin, ANY unit is affected by the warlord trait now and they will still have to take morale tests. Or it could affect any Space Wolves unit if the Deed is done:

The saga of Majesty is a trait that will be more than likely turned on late-game considering you have to kill the enemy Warlord with your Warlord. The payoff is huge though. You still don’t have to take any morale tests, but characters increase all of their aura abilities by 3″.

The saga of the hunter no longer gets the bonus of being in cover like we thought before. But your Warlord can advance and charge as long as he made one successful charge earlier.

Of course, like all other codexes, if you use a named character, you have to take the specific warlord trait that goes along with them.
