What happens when a Drukhari pilot gets shot down? They catch a ride on whatever shot them down, of course! Check out this Army from LVO.
The 2019 Las Vegas Open was another massive event for Wargaming that pulled people in from all across the globe. Of course, when you have that many players there, you’re bound to see jaw-dropping armies.
Today, we’ll be checking out just how crafty the Drukhari can be.
Beast-Wrangling Drukhari Pilots: Armies on Parade
Check out this incredible flyer-themed Drukhari list that was spotted at the LVO in 2019. Dark Eldar pilots lost their ships and decided to wrangle a Tyranid as a makeshift fighter!
Never underestimate a cornered Drukhari. They’ll fight tooth and nail to stay alive. Probably because they really don’t want to have their souls eaten by Slaanesh… But hey, that’s beside the point. These Dark Eldar pilots are fearless as they managed to control some of the biggest creatures of the Hive Mind with one hand.
keep in mind, the Dark Eldar haven’t lost all their ships and are being supported by a mix of Voidraven Bombers and Razorwings. And can we just take a minute to appreciate the glare effect on all of the spirit stones? That’s hours of work alone put into such a small detail.
To create an eye-popping fade effect, colors were layered onto the Tyranid’s chitinous shell. But the detail didn’t just stop there! The wings are painted in the same way! That’s at least four different shades of tan.
To keep the ground forces strong, some Eldar Rangers dug in while the flyers zoomed overhead blowing apart any enemy spotted from the skies. That’s so much detail in one T3 model!
This is just one of the hundreds of head-spinning armies spotted on the tabletops at the LVO 2019. Keep your eyes peeled for even more army showcases that were too good not to share! What do you think about the conversions from this army? Do you run a two-faction themed army as well?
