Is The Tyranids Christmas Box Worth It?

Screamer-KillerIn terms of raw value, this has it! With over $120 in value, you’re basically getting two of the units inside for free, so if you need everything in the box, this is a great way to get a force on the board quickly.

However, it is all big bugs. GW is doing themed boxes this year, so if you want to play Crusher Stampede, this is a buy all day long. If you’re looking for small units, you’ll want to pass on this one.

Also, keep in mind that the Horrors of the Hive set is basically part of the Leviathan Launch box and the missing units from the Starter Sets, so it may synergize with your collection, and it may not.

Still, this is a great box. Let’s just hope it doesn’t get allocated like some recent battleforces and plenty of people get to pick it up.

How Many Points Is This?

Based on the current edition of 40k, we would guess the Tyranids battleforce points are somewhere around 730 points. But, as you know, the tides of the Grimdark universe are ever-shifting, and with the latest points updates, that number could quickly fluctuate.

What to Buy Next?

exocrineIf you grabbed the new Tyranid Battleforce, you’re off to a monstrous start. Next up, grab some Termagants or Hormagaunts to flood the board and keep your big bugs safe while they smash. A Hive Tyrant or Winged Prime is a solid follow-up to buff your broods and keep that synapse web strong.

Want even more heavy hitters? An Exocrine or Trygon keeps the Crusher theme alive and the pressure on. And if you’re aiming for a full invasion force, the Combat Patrol: Tyranids pairs perfectly before it scuttles out of stock.

Final Thoughts From Us: Tyranid Battleforce

HaruspexThe Tyranids Battleforce is pure monstrous value, dripping with chitin and savings. It’s not the most flexible box out there, but if you love big bugs doing big bug things, it absolutely delivers. Between the models, the savings, and the table presence, this is a win for any Hive Mind collector.

Just grab it fast before it vanishes into the warp, because like all great swarms, this one won’t stick around for long.
