We’re looking at some of our favorite armies from the AdeptiCon 2026 40k Team Tournament, because this event always brings out some of the coolest forces to hit the tables all year.
AdeptiCon 2026’s Team Tournament was an absolute blast from start to finish. The armies looked incredible, the team planning was on full display, and everywhere you turned, there was another army with paint jobs sharp enough to steal the spotlight before the dice even started rolling.
Between the slick list pairings, coordinated game plans, and hobby effort on display, this was one of those events that reminded everyone why team tournaments are such a big deal.
Let’s take a look at what made the AdeptiCon 2026 40k Team Tournament such a standout event.

Once again, AdeptiCon 2026 had players from all over the country stop in and show off their most beautifully painted armies. On the team side, they put in a ton of work to make some awesome armies for the Team Tournament!
This board threw the Space Wolves and Night Lords straight into a showdown that felt like werewolves versus vampires in the grimmest way possible. The whole thing looked fantastic and had one of those matchups that instantly made you stop and stare.
When the Titan Steals the Show
This board had a giant Titan hanging around a castle backdrop, and that alone was enough to pull people in. Even with Fulgrim on the table, the Titan still managed to tower over everything and make the whole display feel huge.
Chaos United for Once
This display board showed what happens when the forces of Chaos actually manage to point themselves in the same direction for five minutes. Between the massive castle centerpiece and all the sharp paintwork across the army, this one looked great from top to bottom.
Skulls, Blood, and Zero Subtlety
This Khorne army did exactly what you want a Khorne army to do and then added even more blood on top of it. With red everywhere, rivers of gore, and daemons ready to collect a fresh pile of skulls, this board really sold the whole theme.
The Hive Mind’s Pre-Game Playlist
What’s better than harvesting biomass? Apparently, blasting K-pop before the battle starts so the swarm is in the zone. This Tyranid display had a super fun theme, and it stood out right away as one of the more creative boards at the event.
Blazing Through the Battlefield
Orange Space Marines are always a risky move, because that color can go sideways fast, but this army absolutely nailed it. It looked awesome from across the room and somehow looked even better once you got up close.
Glow-Up of the Ancient Dead
This Necron army came in hot with bright pinks, turquoise, and black, and it absolutely owned that neon look. Throw in the floating tomb world display, and the whole force looked like it was ready to reclaim the galaxy in style.
Dark Sermons and Rotting Reinforcements
The Word Bearers are always out there stirring the pot, and this display looked like their war room in the middle of another terrible decision. With Nurgle Daemons front and center and plenty of scheming energy baked into the board, it had a ton of character.
The Greater Good Goes Offshore
This Tau army had a killer ocean theme, a hand-built Orca, and enough Kroot support to make the whole force feel alive. The bright colors and huge centerpiece models made it one of those displays you could spot from halfway across the hall.
Battle for the Breach
This diorama focused on Space Marines and Chaos Marines throwing down over a warp gate, which is already a strong setup before you even get to the paint. The black-and-white scheme worked perfectly with the backdrop and helped the whole scene pop.
Peak Tzeentch Nonsense
There were plenty of cool minis on this diorama, but the real star was the Tzeentch chariot being pulled by a Heldrake. It was wild, over-the-top, and exactly the sort of hobby madness that makes people stop and ask how somebody even came up with it.
Noise Marines Know How to Party
What do the Emperor’s Children love almost as much as excess and violence? Putting on a show, of course. This round concert-themed diorama really captured their whole vibe and turned it into a display piece that was both ridiculous and awesome.
Final Thoughts on the 40k Team Tournament at AdeptiCon 2026
The 40k Team Tournament at AdeptiCon 2026 brought out some of the coolest armies, smartest pairings, and most creative team setups we saw all weekend. From unexpected alliances and wild display boards to paint schemes that had no business looking that good but absolutely did, this event was a great reminder that team tournaments bring a different kind of energy to 40k.
If you like seeing what hobbyists can do when they really go all in, there was a lot to love here. Between the army concepts, the tabletop presentation, and the teamwork on display, AdeptiCon 2026 had plenty of inspiration for your next project.
