RoTJ’s Super Star Destroyer is coming to Star Wars Armada, along with some Clone Wars love for X-wing 2.0! Come see the latest on the Executor.

Gold Swudron Podcast’s Twitch stream yesterday showed FFG’s Star Wars team unveiled the Executor. The original video has since been taken down but the internet managed to snap a few pics, and there are clips as well.

We know that the ship is a giant compared to other ships from all the times we’ve seen it in the movies. Well, it looks like they got the scaling right because it’s a behemoth.

There’s also some exciting times ahead for X-wing players. Take a closer look.

Right away, you can tell the size of this ship is massive. Especially for a tabletop game. It looks like it’ll be coming with a small deck of cards and some counters to come with it. But let’s get a better idea of the size…

This model by itself is longer than this guy’s shoulder width. There won’t be much room to maneuver through with this bad boy on the table. Some users on Reddit managed to get some information down from the original stream.

Looks like Admiral Piett, Emperor Palpatine – both as a Commander and Officer.

22 hull, 4 command dials, two brace, two redirect, two contain tokens, plus a scatter and evade? So maybe a flotilla included as well?

Looks like a Director Krennick Officer, 4-5 titles, a handful of existing upgrades, at least 2 other named Officers.

There’s also a new round token on there, next to the command tokens.

2 normal ship cards (but bigger format), 1 bonus ship card for non-standard play.

Full article to follow on Friday.

A user managed to spot some of the cards from the live stream.

Going right-to-left, bottom-to-top:

Admiral Piett (Commander), Emperor Palpatine(?) (Commander), Emperor Palpatine (Officer), [Gallius Rex?] (Officer), Admiral Piett(?) (Officer), Director Krennic (Officer), [unknown] (Officer), [unknown] (unknown)

Flight Controllers, Veteran Gunners, Boarding Engineers, Point-Defense Reroute, Rapid Launch Bays, Heavy Ion Emplacements, Quad Battery Turrets, XI7 Turbolasers,

Entrapment Formation!, All Fighters Follow Me!, Shields to Maximum!, Intensify Firepower!, Executor (title), (title), (title), (title)

If this is all right, the Palpatine himself will be inside this ship!

Q1 2019. $199. 6 firing arcs. 3 attacks per turn.

A New Era of X-Wing

Does that ship look familiar? That’s because it’s Darth Maul’s. A new era of Star Wars is coming to X-wing as well.

Be on the lookout for Separatist and Republic ships hitting the table to represent the Clone Wars and beyond.

Going off of what was spotted in the Reddit thread, we can expect to see the Executor in the 1st quarter of 2019. It’ll cost a pretty penny at $200 so now may be the time to put your hobby cash away and save up.

Someone mentioned a full article on the Executor should be coming out on Friday. We’ll surely be on the lookout for it as the release date and pricing has not yet been confirmed.

What kind of rules would you like to see the Executor get? Will you be starting an Imperial fleet now that this has been announced? What ships would you like to see come to X-Wing? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
