The 40k narrative has had some pretty big changes ever since Roboute Guilliman came into the picture. Rumors are saying something else may be coming.
Rumors were spotted on BoLS mentioning Robbie G and his view of the Imperium. Turns out, he may not be as accepted as you’d think a Primarch would be in the grimdark universe.
Check out the latest rumors.
40k Rumors: A Chapter Going AWOL
To fill you in, Roboute Guilliman is back and has basically become the “acting Emperor” seeing as he’s the only loyalist Primarch to be found and even carries Big E’s personal sword.
He has shown up and in a very short amount of time and worked closely with the Eldar, created new super soldiers that some chapters absolutely despise, and has his hands in other Chapters’ business by forcing them to all intake new Primaris into their ranks.
This sounds a bit fishy. Roboute Guilliman could seed his soldiers into the ranks of every chapter and make them “trusted”. Then after a while, execute order 66 and BOOM, end up with another Drop Site Massacre-Primaris edition. We aren’t saying this would ever happen…but it’s not impossible.
Because of everything Robbie G has been doing, rumors are saying he could have royally ticked off a few Chapters. As far as the rumors go:
- A Chapter will decide to break away from the Imperium but NOT go Chaos
What Chapter Could do Such a Thing?
…A sane one…Oops did we say that out loud?
Some Chapters have accepted the Primaris with open arms seeing them as a sort of “salvation”. Take Dante For example, (Chapter Master of the Blood Angels) He told Gabriel Seth (Chapter Master of the Flesh Tearers) that the Primaris are the future. Primaris Blood Angels are immune to the Black Rage which Dante loves. However, Gabriel calls them fake because they can’t experience the death of their father.
Other Chapters like the Imperial Fists are the epitome of a perfect soldier. Dorn would not be happy with what Robbie G is doing with the Imperium, but we doubt he would completely pull his chapters out of the Imperium. If he was going to do it, he would’ve done it when Guilliman implemented the Codex Astartes.
Space Wolves and Russ have no problem hunting down and taking out a “problem” when it threatens the Imperium. However, with Leman Russ out of the picture for now, the Chapter may pull a stunt and instead of fight Guilliman, they may just pull their forces out and being their own empire.
As a side note: if the rumors are true and GW decides to go through with this plot twist, we feel that it would be a perfect opportunity to put the spotlight on one of the lesser chapters in 40k (i.e Salamanders, White Scars, Iron Hands, Imperial Fists etc.) We doubt it would be a Chapter that just got their codex in 8th edition. But who knows!
Do you think its possible that a Chapter could just break away from the Imperium? Which Chapter would be most likely to do it? Would they get swallowed up by Chaos or some Xenos faction in an instant? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
