Games Workshop’s Sunday Preview revealed the new Necromunda House Orlock Road Warriors, Road Sergeants, and Ogryn Minders, hitting pre-order this Saturday.
Orlock bosses are about to get a whole lot harder to shoot, because GW showed off two Ogryn Minders whose job is basically to take bullets for the boss. They’re part of a full House of Iron release wave, too. And considering GW officially axed the Necromunda RPG a few days earlier, at least the tabletop side of Necromunda isn’t going anywhere.
We’ve also got classic Tzeentch daemons coming back as Made to Order, plus two Horus Heresy Saga books from Black Library. So even if your gang isn’t riding around on quads, there’s still plenty to check out.
Here’s everything going up for pre-order this Saturday, along with what we think of the new stuff.
Warhammer 40k Necromunda: New Pre-Order Releases
More new Necromunda is here! Let’s check out the latest pre-order offerings for everyone’s favorite gang-infested hive world.
These go up for pre-order on Saturday, October 31, around 1 p.m. EST in the States, with a street date of Saturday, November 14, for store shelves.
Still waiting for something else to go up for pre-order? Take a look at our updated Warhammer Roadmap for 2026 to see what’s coming.
Orlock Road Sergeants & Cyber-mastiffs
This box comes with a Road Captain, five Road Sergeants, and two cyber-mastiffs. That’s a lot of leadership in one kit, especially when you haven’t even picked up your regular gangers yet. GW also says there are plenty of weapon and cosmetic options, so you shouldn’t end up with a bunch of Champions who all look the same.
But come on, the dogs might be the best part. The Enforcers got their cyber-mastiffs last year, and now House Orlock gets its own augmented hounds to send charging down the road. We’d be pretty tempted to grab this box just for those two.
Orlock Road Sergeants & Cyber-mastiffs Hobby Tips
Paint the cyber-mastiffs separately from their bases, then glue them on once you’ve finished the metal. For the Sergeants, stick to one gang color on the cloth, and give the Road Captain a bit of brass as a spot color. That way, you can tell who’s in charge without having to look twice.
Orlock Road Warriors
The Road Warriors are your new ganger kit, and you’ve got four archetypes to choose from: Road Enforcers, Road Shooters, Road Engineers, and Road Blasters. Each has its own abilities, so the way you build these guys actually changes what your gang can do on the tabletop.
And the weapons? You’ve got meltaguns, pneumatic hammers, outrider flails, and sawn-off shotguns to play with. Between those hammers and flails, you can tell some of these guys want to get right up in someone’s face.
Orlock Road Warriors Hobby Tips
Before you start clipping parts, sort the sprues by archetype and keep each fighter’s bits in a separate bag. You’ll also want to dry-fit the weapon arms before reaching for the glue. A meltagun or pneumatic hammer can change the pose more than you’d expect. For some easy wear and tear, sponge a little dark brown onto the hammer heads and flail weights to make them look properly used.
Orlock Ogryn Minders
Need somebody big to keep your boss alive? GW is adding some serious muscle to your gang with two Ogryn bodyguards built to protect Leaders and Champions. These big guys can take a shot meant for your boss, then dish out some punishment with heavy mauls, spud-jackers, and ripper guns.
And the bodyguard rule is probably what Orlock players will like the most. Keeping your Road Captain alive through that opening volley can make a huge difference, especially when losing your leader early can ruin your whole campaign night.
We’ve seen Ogryns in Necromunda before, sure, but these two have a pretty clear job: make sure the Orlock leadership gets to fight another round.
Orlock Ogryn Minders Hobby Tips
Get the skin painted before attaching the mauls and ripper guns. It’ll save you a bunch of hassle trying to reach all those muscles later. A thin brown wash in the recesses will help bring out the definition, and you can leave the straps and buckles until the end. For a little extra grime, add some rust along the bottom edges of the ripper guns where they’d drag against the road.
Orlock Underhive Journal: The House of Iron
The new Underhive Journal gets into the history of the House of Iron, but there’s a lot of gaming stuff in here, too. Want to run a Road Gang on customizable outrider quads? You can do that. Want to field Orlock Wrecking Crews? Those are in here as well. And if you’ve already got a gang you like, there are new fighter rules, upgrades, and legendary names to work into your existing crew.
That last bit is probably going to be the big draw for a lot of Orlock players. Who wants to start an entirely new gang when they’ve already got one they’ve been playing for years? GW has been pretty good about not leaving older models behind this edition, and being able to give your existing fighters some new toys is always nice.
Orlock Card Pack and Dice
If you’re tired of flipping through the Journal every few minutes, the new card pack should help. You get 24 cards covering gang tactics, fighter stats, territories, and side jobs. There’s also a matching dice set with three D6, two Injury dice, two Firepower dice, and a Scatter dice. They’re pearlescent grey with silver pips, and the House logo takes the place of the six.
Just keep in mind that both of these are available while stocks last. So if you’re the type who likes your dice to match your gang, Saturday’s probably the time to grab them rather than hoping they come back later.
New 40k Made to Order
These models are only available as Made-to-Order releases directly from Games Workshop. Orders are usually fulfilled within 180 days of the availability window, so make sure you get yours in before that window closes.
Tzeentch Daemons Made to Order
Some classic Tzeentch daemons are coming back as Made to Order for a limited time, although GW hasn’t announced the exact ordering dates yet. You’ve got the massive resin Exalted Greater Daemon of Tzeentch, a Fatemaster on Disc, a Fluxmaster on Disc, the smaller Greater Daemon of Tzeentch, and the Blue Scribes.
For us, it’s got to be the Blue Scribes. Seriously, two Blue Horrors doing paperwork while riding around on the back of a flying Screamer? That’s about as Tzeentch as it gets. We’d happily take more goofy character models like that.
Of course, that’s the thing with Made to Order. The ordering window doesn’t stay open forever, and you could be waiting quite a while for the models to show up. Still, if you missed any of these before, here’s another chance. One thing to note, though: GW says they won’t be available in Korea.
Black Library: New Pre-Order Releases
We’ve got more Black Library pre-orders to check out, too. Whether you’re into massive far-future battles, weird quests, or heroes getting themselves into trouble, there’s a little something here for the reading pile.
The Flight of the Eisenstein
James Swallow’s The Flight of the Eisenstein is book four in the Horus Heresy Saga series, following Nathaniel Garro as he desperately tries to escape the Isstvan system after Horus springs his trap. It’s still a pretty important part of the whole Heresy story, too. After all, Garro is the guy trying to get that warning out when nobody else can.
Collectors will probably be looking at the Premium Edition, which comes with a faux-leather cover, metal emblem, printed page edges, and a ribbon marker. That version goes live on Wednesday, November 4, at 3 p.m. UK time (10 a.m. EST in the States). It’s available while stocks last, although GW says it could get another print run later. There’s also a regular hardback, along with French and German paperbacks.
Galaxy in Flames
Ben Counter’s Galaxy in Flames takes us to Isstvan III, where the Loyalists within the Sons of Horus, Death Guard, Emperor’s Children, and World Eaters are being wiped out. It’s coming up for pre-order in paperback, and if you’re picking up Eisenstein, this makes a pretty good companion read. Both stories deal with that same betrayal, just from different sides of what’s happening.
Whisperblade
Whisperblade is Hal Wilson’s first full-length Black Library novel, following Zelef Eryx, a Freeguild spy and enforcer whose job is hunting down corruption within his own ranks. When the Raven City of Lethis comes under threat, he ends up joining a crusade deep into Shyish, searching for the lost fortress of Udriste. That’s assuming the place is even still there.
A spy trying to root out traitors in his own Freeguild? That’s a nice change from the usual big battlefield story, and we can see Cities of Sigmar fans getting into this one. It’s available to pre-order in hardback.
Blood of the Bastion
Evan Dicken’s Blood of the Bastion is the first full-length novel focused on the warriors of Grand Cathay, so that should already have Cathay fans interested. Yao Kai has just become Master of the Snake Gate when he discovers a Chaos plot to bring down the Great Bastion from the inside. To stop it, he’s going to need help from some old rivals and the family he thought he’d left behind.
This one’s going up for pre-order in hardback.
FAQ About House Orlock and the Road Warriors Sunday Preview
What is an orlock?
Orlocks are the fighters of House Orlock, also known as the House of Iron, one of Necromunda’s gang houses. This release puts them out on the roads that keep the hive running, with new gangers, leaders, and Ogryn bodyguards.
Final Thoughts on Necromunda Orlock Pre-Orders
There’s a lot here that could change how Orlock gangs play, whether it’s keeping your bosses alive with Minders or running an entire Road Gang on quads.
GW says we’ve got more House Orlock news and rules coming throughout the week, too, so hopefully we’ll have a better idea of what those four Road Warrior archetypes can actually do before Saturday’s pre-orders get here.
