Forge World Reveals New Knight Asterius Titan Rules

New Forge World Knight Titan rules are here for the Asterius the second of Acastus Class to arrive for Horus Heresy. Don’t miss the latest!

The Acastus Class Knight class is nothing new to us. We’ve actually had the Porphyrion for a long while now. However, the Mechanicum figured they needed some C-beams on the walker instead of four freakishly big cannons.

Let’s break down the latest from Warhammer Community:

Acastus Class Asterius Knight: Power Armor Nightmare

This thing is the Porphyrion’s brother, so we can get a pretty good idea at how tough he’ll be and how tall he’ll be standing. The Acastus actually sits just under the Scout Class (Warhound) Titan. Now let’s get onto the real reason why you checked out this article:

acastus

An 8HP front armor 14 behemoth is exactly the type of unit we’d expect to see the Imperium roll out of its factories. Because nothing says “Mankind is the best” quite like a multi-ton Walker with massive laser arms. Plus, he’s sitting at 540 points, compared to other Knights that seems a pretty solid unit for the cost.

Looking at the weapons, in short, he’s going to be a power armor nightmare. Turns out, there’s a lot of that in 30k as well. At his strongest range, he’ll be lobbing two AP 1 Massive Blasts downrange (get out your old Apocalypse templates)! On the bright side, his weapons get a bit more reasonable the closer you get. Although, any shot from this is going straight through normal power armor. The best way to handle this guy is to perhaps bring some ridiculous firepower of your own and strike him early on.

acastus mortars

If you’re bringing this guy, the 7″ Str 10 blast might be tempting to throw onto a massive squad of Marines. However, there’s probably some enemy armor that should be dealt with. Don’t worry though, the Karacnos Mortar Battery fits the bill for ruining Infantry’s day. These mortars get a heavy 3 barrage with all the rules that say “please shoot me towards the infantry unit you need wiped off the table”.

And last but not least, with him being a Knight, he’ll have his own Ion Shield.

The Acastus Asterius can be taken in the Mechanicum Taghmata or Questoris Crusade army as a LoW. You can also download the full rules on this Knight ahead of time. Look for this guy to go on pre-order from Forge World Friday, hopefully with some 40k rules as well.
