Games Workshop just announced that they are opening the online store for the US, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada finally!
Warhammer Community dropped the official word shortly after opening their webstore to Europe and other countries, that the US and Australia can join in on the fun. Check out everything there is to know.
Games Workshop Online Store Opening LATEST
Good news just in: (May 7th), the webstore will start taking orders from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Italy.
Just Like Last Time, There Will Be a Queue
The queue is set up so access will be on a first come, first served basis and will appear as a holding page that will let you know how long your wait will likely be. It’ll remember your place too, so you can wander off to brew yourself a nice cup of recaff, take a wander around your living room or count your paints… and your place in the queue will remain secure.
Once your turn comes, you’ll have as long as you need to browse the site and get through the checkout. So long as you’re active on the site, you can stay as long as you want. If, however, you wander off from the site for over 30 minutes, you’ll need to rejoin the queue to kick-off a new session. Likewise, if you just sit there for more than 30 minutes doing nothing at all, like a sunbathing Slann Starmaster on a lazy Sunday, you’ll also need to rejoin the queue.
There’s A Buy Limit On Popular Items
Due to expected high demand for certain things, we will be limiting sales of some items to 3 per order. This is to make sure that everyone can get hold of the essentials they need.
We’re also putting the limit on the new boxed set Prophecy of the Wolf so we can keep it available as long as possible for those Orks and Space Wolves fans who have been patiently waiting for weeks for the fight of the millennium to resume!
They’re pretty smart for doing this. Just to keep some people with deep pockets from buying up everything like Prophecy of the Wolf and sought-after paints, they’re limiting them to three per order. Now, Prophecy of the Wolf has TWO new models in it so if we had to make a bet, this will probably disappear almost instantly.
Shipping Is Going to Take Longer & No Ship-To-Store Option
As you’d expect from fewer workers being allowed in a warehouse at a time, shipping is going to take longer than usual.
orders will be taking longer to arrive than normal, and will probably take weeks, rather than days, to reach you. Of course, if you haven’t got your models within 28 days of placing your order, feel free to contact our customer service team, they’ll be glad to provide you with an update.
Also, the ship-to-store option won’t be available for now, as the majority of our Warhammer Stores remain closed for the moment. We know loads of you like to take advantage of this service, but don’t worry – for those of you in territories where you’d normally be able to order to your local Warhammer store, and they aren’t currently open, we are lowering the Free Standard Shipping threshold on orders by 50%.
While things may take longer to get to you and stock will be limited, GW is also cutting the free shipping cap in half, which is a nice silver lining to everything. If it’s been weeks since you’ve done anything hobby related, we doubt a bunch of you out there won’t have any problems meeting the free shipping requirements!
This announcement is some good news as it’s a sign of improvement. While conditions aren’t exactly optimal, they’re at least getting better. Now, with the webstore opening back up to other regions of the world, it’s probably safe to say that things will be going quickly. If you’re in desperate need of a hobby restock you might want to be ready at your computer.
