Another off-meta Warhammer 9th Edition 40k army list emerged in the CaptainCon 2022 GT, check this one out!
9th Edition’s meta is again in flux, but some players are taking lists with units that nobody was expecting. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. This just goes to show us that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.
Top Homebrew 40k Army List: LVO 40K Champs 2022
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves. You can also check out the details for the event here.
If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.
However, we aren’t covering all those lists, instead, we will be looking at just one of our favorites this week.
9th Place: Omar Qusrawi – Chaos Knights
Omar went for a dedicated Chaos Knights list, which isn’t too unheard of lately, but he still did extremely well with this relatively straightforward non-meta list!
Starting off with a Magaera, running cleanser, and claw, this makes for a serious threat that can wipe out chaff units and even challenge sturdier units in melee thanks to its massive 16S -4 AP 6 damage melee swings
The second big knight is a Despoiler, which is running Rocket pod, and double Thermal Cannon, making it the dedicated anti-armor ranged threat.
The rest of the list consists of 7 War Dogs. These have quickly become powerhouses among Chaos Knight players thanks to their extreme point efficiency! All of Omar’s are running Spear and Cleaver, which means all of them have decent multi-purpose ranged weapons and decent melee weapons all on 14″ move chassis that can traverse the entire board!
