Good Luck Getting The New Farsight & Snikrot Models Now

By Rob Baer | March 27th, 2023 | Categories: Orks, Tau, Warhammer 40k, Warhammer 40k Rumors

GW-allocationsGW has hit stores with crippling allocations for the new Tau Farsight and Orks Snikrot 40k miniatures inside their Boarding Patrols box sets.

It looks like allocations (or “caps” as Games Workshop calls them) are back again for new Warhammer 40k releases, and these numbers are so low we’re wondering why GW even bothered at all.

Either way, all the stores and distributors we polled reported that their orders were once again slashed numbers-wise (for some boxes) for all of the new boarding patrol releases this week.

For now, though, let’s check out what goes on pre-order this week that’s affected and look at how many of each will be available.

New Farsight & Snikrot: Tau Orks Boarding Patrols Allocations

  • Orks & Tau Boarding Patrols: 2 per store!
  • Boarding Patrol Necrons: 1 per store
  • Boarding Patrol Grey Knights: 1 per store
  • Eldar & Dark Eldar Boarding Patrols: 2 per store

Well, this time, the allocations are just wild. We’re not sure how Games Workshop goes to all the lengths to promote the new Snikrot and Farsight models with allocations of only two per store, but we suggest waiting until their separate release.

But if you have to have either of the new models, perhaps it’s better to try to order with a local store or secondary seller, and not reward Games Workshop with the full profit on the sale by ordering direct from them.

So overall, it just looks like GW made an insane decision this week and didn’t make much of anything for retail.

Overall, this is a very interesting look into how Games Workshop values certain boxes and how they spend their marketing dollars just to have no inventory available to buy.

It makes us wonder how the rollout of 10th Edition 40k will go after the Indomitus box set disaster of 2020.
