Enclosed Speeder Cockpit Kits Are Here From Pop Goes the Monkey

Pop Goes the Monkey released two enclosed Speeder Cockpit kits for the Storm Speeder and 2026 Land Speeder to hide the crew.

Whether you’re running the older Storm Speeder or building the new Land Speeder from the 2026 box set, Pop Goes the Monkey now has an enclosed cockpit kit for both. Each model gets its own version, including one for the new Space Marines in the Armageddon box.

That Land Speeder had barely picked up its 14″ move and Purgation Run in 11th Edition before someone made a way to close the wide-open cockpit. Both kits cost $15.50 and come from Sanctioned Artist Gotrek, with different parts built around each Speeder.

Both kits fix the same annoying part of the stock design. The Speeder leaves its crew sitting out in the open, which gets a little odd when you’re trying to hide an anti-grav gunship behind a ruin. Closing the cockpit adds more armor and saves you from painting two crewmen who’ll mostly disappear under the canopy.

This version is made for the new Land Speeder from the 2026 box set. The pilot-controlled weapon moves into the enclosed cabin, while the turret gun becomes a remote mount for the gunner, which puts the whole crew inside the armor.

The kit includes multi-fuser, gatling gun, and heavy flamethrower versions, plus a plug for the hole left by the original weapon mount bar. Best of all, it works whether you’re gluing one loadout or magnetizing the options. So, if you already like magnetizing your Land Speeder weapon options before, it should fit into the same kind of build.

Just build the Speeder normally, leave off the crew, and glue the three conversion pieces over the open sections. The artist notes that a few small gaps may need green stuff, but anyone comfortable with a basic conversion should be fine here.

The Gotrek-101 is the larger version made for the Storm Speeder. Three pieces close off the pilot, co-pilot level, and turret gunner. You lose the visible crew, but the cabin gets more armor and you can skip a decent chunk of fiddly painting.

It’s printed in Monkey Resin 3 and TufFlex MJP, using the same kind of setup we covered in our Pop Goes the Monkey upgrades review. So, if your Storm Speeder has been sitting stock on the shelf, this changes the look without making you rebuild the whole model.

Final Thoughts on the Pop Goes the Monkey Land Speeder Cockpit Kits

Pop Goes the Monkey moved fast on this one. The 2026 Land Speeder is barely showing up on tables and already has a conversion kit, while the older Storm Speeder got one at the same time. At $15.50 each, they’re simple weekend upgrades that make the models look more armored and leave fewer crew models in the painting queue.

We’ll have to see whether Gotrek keeps working through the rest of the new Armageddon box. Since the Land Speeder got an upgrade this quickly, other models with exposed crews could be next.

It may be worth checking the store again when another Marine vehicle arrives too.
