Da Red Gobbo is back for 2026 with a Squigmobile, an elf stuck in a bomb-shaped sidecar, and a helmet for a driver who can’t brake, apparently
Nothing says you’re looking out for your employees like wearing a helmet yourself while putting the other guy on a bomb. That’s what Games Workshop went with for this year’s Grotmas mini, and it’s pretty funny. If you play Orks, you know the drill: every year, the little revolutionary shows up with something new, and last year’s Tinboy was pretty hard to beat, but this might be the one to do it.
Remember that Rumor Engine from ten days ago? We guessed the festive look was Da Red gobbo, and that he’d be riding some kind of chariot, and a Squigmobile is close enough for us. We’re taking partial (almost full) credit.
- Da Red Gobbo’s Squigmobile is this year’s festive Ork character mini: a present-delivery contraption with his elf riding in a bomb sidecar, pre-orders “soon,” no price or date yet.
- The Festive Activities Guide looks like it gets the red gobbo into three different games: Legends rules for 40k, Nemesis Operatives for Kill Team, and Blood Bowl, from Warhammer stores in November.
- Da Red Gobbo’s Reckoning is a new Callum Davis novella with Ratling snipers on the hunt: picked-on Ratlings get sent into the snow by Catachan bosses to bring the Gobbo down.
Da Red Gobbo’s Squigmobile is Built for Speed, Not Stopping
This thing is a roaring, clanking machine built to deliver presents at ridiculous speeds, and even GW admits it’s got some serious Wazdakka Gutsmek vibes. You know some speed freak players are already digging through their bits boxes, and you could easily see someone turning this into a warboss conversion before New Year’s.
And then you’ve got the passenger. Da Gobbo’s poor “elf” is crammed into a bomb-shaped sidecar that, according to GW, might actually be a live bomb. Just look at that little guy’s face. He knows exactly what he’s sitting on, and he’s not happy about it.
As for when you can actually get one, GW is only saying pre-orders are coming “soon.” No price, or anything more specific yet, so at least your hobby budget gets a little breathing room.
The Festive Activities Guide Puts Him on Three Different Games(?)
And there’s more going on with the rules for the Red Gobbo than we expected from a holiday mini. This year’s Festive Activities Guide is coming to local Warhammer stores in November, with Legends rules for 40k, Nemesis Operatives rules for Kill Team, and Blood Bowl rules.
That’s three different games for one little festive grot, not too bad at all.
Now, Legends rules mean you’re not bringing Da Gobbo to a 40k tournament. But with Orks already winning events in the first month of the new codex, it’s not like they need him in a GT list anyway. But that’s fine regardless; this is the kind of model you bring to a casual December game night at your LGS and have some fun with.
Now, Blood Bowl? That’s the one we really want to see. Will those rules cover the Squigmobile? Because if they do, an elf riding around in a bomb sidecar while Da Gobbo goes flying down the pitch sounds pretty much perfect for Blood Bowl.
Da Red Gobbo’s Reckoning Sends Bullied Ratlings After Him
Callum Davis, who wrote Chem Dog, has a new novella called Da Red Gobbo’s Reckoning, and here’s the Cliff Notes: some pretty irritated Catachan commanders send Ratling fixer Ector Flynn and his sniper squad into a snowy wasteland. Their job? Hunt down Da Gobbo.
And there’s a reason those Ratlings are up for it. They’ve spent months getting pushed around by the Jungle Fighters, and now they’ve finally got a chance to prove themselves. Naturally, things don’t go quite how they planned. WarCom hints that they might end up learning a thing or two about vengeance from the Gobbo himself.
Little guys getting bullied and fighting back? Yeah, that’s right up Da Gobbo’s alley we think…
Final Thoughts on Da Red Gobbo
Now we just need GW to announce the pre-orders. We still need a price and release date, though. Our guess is he’ll show up around the usual Grotmas window in November, with the novella not far behind.
And don’t forget to check your Warhammer store for the Festive Activities Guide too. We wouldn’t be surprised if people start asking for that guide just for the Blood Bowl rules. Throw in a possible Grotmas Calendar if GW decides to bring one back, and December could get pretty busy.
