Nighthaunt Court of the Undying King Review: Contents, Points, Pricing & Value

Nighthaunt Court of the Undying King Christmas Battleforce box

Nighthaunt: Court of the Undying King is their 2026 AoS Christmas Box, and if you’re thinking about buying the battleforce, we break down the models, value, and who it’s for.

Nearly half of this Nighthaunt box’s retail value is one very large and angry skeleton. GW dropped Nagash, Supreme Lord of the Undead in the Nighthaunt Christmas Battleforce, and at $156 on his own, the Great Necromancer accounts for about 42% of the $368.75 you’d pay for these kits separately.

So before you get excited about a god and 32 ghosts under the tree, check your current army. If Nagash is already sitting there half-painted, the value on this box changes fast, and we’re going to walk through exactly how much.

Article summary
  • What’s in the Nighthaunt: Court of the Undying King Battleforce: one Nagash, Supreme Lord of the Undead, two Dreadblade Harrows, 10 Dreadscythe Harridans, 10 Bladegheist Revenants, and 10 Grimghast Reapers.
  • Value is strong if you need Nagash: itemized MSRP comes out to $368.75, putting savings at roughly $104 versus the estimated $265 box price, with no upgrade sprue padding the number.
  • The Nagash catch: Nagash alone is $156 of that value, so if you already own him, the rest of the box costs more than buying those kits separately.
  • Tabletop take: 33 miniatures and roughly 1,450 points, with three full infantry units, a pair of spectral cavalry, and a huge centerpiece model.
  • Pricing: Assumed to be the new Battleforce price of $265.
  • Release Date: TBD, but these usually go on pre-order or hit store shelves on Black Friday, which could be on or around Nov 27th, 2026.

Nighthaunt AoS Christmas Box Values & Pricing

Nagash

The Court of the Undying King is built around one idea: every soul in the Mortal Realms belongs to Nagash, and he’s sending 32 ghosts with very sharp blades to collect. You get Nagash himself, a pair of Dreadblade Harrows riding spectral steeds, and three full 10-model units of Harridans, Revenants, and Reapers.

Honestly, that’s the kind of box that reads like a starter army instead of a sampler. Thirty spirit infantry is enough to actually fill a table, and since Nagash can join Nighthaunt, Soulblight Gravelords, Flesh-eater Courts, or Ossiarch Bonereapers, he doesn’t go to waste if your Death collection wanders off in another direction later.

Is This Nighthaunt Box Worth It?

Easy to Build Dreadblade HarrowsWell, you’re getting around $104 in savings with the Nighthaunt: Court of the Undying King. But here’s the catch. Take Nagash out of the math and the other four kits come to $212.75, which is about $52 less than the $265 box. So if you already own the Supreme Lord of the Undead, you’re paying a $52 premium for a second Nagash you probably don’t need.

But if you’re starting Nighthaunt from scratch, or you’ve been eyeing Nagash for years and couldn’t stomach $156 for one model, this is a great deal. Honestly, if you already own Nagash, you’ll pass on this box, and you’re better off grabbing the three infantry kits separately and maybe trying a smaller 1,000-point Nighthaunt list first.

How Many Points Is This?

We’d guess the Nighthaunt: Court of the Undying King points are somewhere around 1,450, with Nagash eating about half of that by himself.

What to Buy Next?

Scriptor Mortis

If you want this Nighthaunt Battleforce to feel like a full army instead of 30 ghosts orbiting a very expensive god, start with some more heroes. A Scriptor Mortis or Krulghast Cruciator gives your infantry blocks some backup, so Nagash isn’t the only character on the table doing the heavy thinking and lifting.

After that, grab some Craventhrone Guard for a bit of ranged pressure, because everything in this box wants to get stuck in, and sometimes you need to pick off a target before your Harridans float across the board. Also, the Ethereal Court adds more character depth too.

Final Thoughts on the Nighthaunt Court of the Undying King Christmas Box

Bladegheist Revenants

At the end of the day, the Nighthaunt: Court of the Undying King is a strong buy for anyone starting Nighthaunt or finally ready to put Nagash on the table. Thirty-three models and over $100 in savings is what a Christmas Battleforce should look like, and honestly, GW clearly understood the assignment on this one.

Just keep in mind who this box is meant for. If you already own Nagash, the value flips upside down, and the smarter move is picking up the infantry kits separately. But if the Great Necromancer has been on your wish list for years, this is probably the cheapest he’s going to get, so we’d keep an eye out for pre-orders soon…
