The Imperial Guard release might be coming sooner than we expected, as a bunch of new box art has been spotted.
We have confirmation from GW that World Eaters will not be until 2023 (and before winter is over on March 20th 2023). So, that means we have until then for Guard to come out. However, with this box art’s new spotting, there’s a chance it’s closer than we think!
Obviously, nothing is confirmed until GW actually puts it out, but once we see the box art, it’s not far off! Let’s check it out.
New Imperial Guard Box Art Spotted
These images of the new Imperial Gaurd packaging were found over on Imgur, and the box art looks great with the updated scarlet Warhammer 40k logo!
Generally, when a new codex comes out with a big revamp of models, GW takes down a lot of the old sets off their webstore. Right now, most of these are out of stock right anyways, which makes sense as they will want the new box art out there when the updated Imperial Guard launch in 2023.
Even though we didn’t spot any new units in this set of pictures, it’s cool to see new box art.
As we said, this probably means we’ll see the new units dropping soon. It will be interesting if they try to put the pre-order up before the new year or not, as the Sister of Battle Black Friday army box release in 2019 wasn’t followed up until February 2020, just in time for you know what.
Keep in mind, they did drop everything for Leagues of Votann in one go, so there is a chance they don’t drag out the release for Imperial Guard. But for some of the larger past releases, they have really drug out every new box set over a few weeks or even a month.
Last but not least, the Commissar is getting some new packaging, but if you’ve bought any of the big box releases from before, you probably have plenty of Commissars already!
