Today’s new Warhammer Rumor Engine preview looks like GW might really be pushing a Tau update with a new Ethereal model.
Here’s the latest Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. As usual, there are some interesting possibilities for what it could be! Whatever the case, we can’t wait to see what Games Workshop has in store when it’s finally revealed.
Let’s take a look and try to guess until then!
New Warhammer Rumor Engine Preview: November 3rd, 2026
If you ask us, this looks a lot like a Tau Ethereal robe, and the standard model is pretty old compared to the rest of the line. Last week we saw what looked like a new Railgun, and Tau are rumored to get the next codex, so it all makes sense… in our heads at least.
A new Ethereal would be a pretty simple character to launch with the book. The old model doesn’t have the gap in the robes as much, but it would make sense that when they update it, the style changes some. But obviously, almost every faction has robes in almost every game system, so it could be for a wide range of armies.
But it’s hard to say either way for sure since robes are pretty standard in Warhammer.

Could this latest Warhammer Rumor Engine be a new Tau Ethereal miniature, or is it something else?
