GW Confirms the Best & Worst 40k Armies At Adepticon 2024

space marines warhammer 40k aos best armies hor walGames Workshop confirms the Warhammer meta at AdeptiCon with statistics and the best and worst armies for both 40k and Age of Sigmar.

GW has been keeping a closer eye on the meta recently and is trying to keep everyone around that 50% win rate with the Dataslates, Battlescrolls, Rules Commentary, and FAQs. However, the games have a lot of rules and mechanics, so not every army will always stay balanced. The newest Dataslate has been out for a while, so it’s nice to see everything stay fairly balanced.

GW Confirms the Best & Worst AoS, Warhammer 40k Armies at AdeptiCon

Here is the latest on the Warhammer meta at Adepticon for AoS and 40k.

best AoS Armies 5AdeptiCon has a ton of different game systems for both games, with singles, teams, and even Kill Team. So, there is a lot of data to collect about the event. They don’t give us a full list of the win rates this time, so you can check out the last complete breakdowns below.

However, there were some very interesting trends revealed for Age of Sigmar in the Games Workshop studio interview.

Warhammer Meta AdeptiConIt wasn’t much of a surprise that Flesh-eater Courts did really well at the event. However, the Hedonites of Slaanesh came out as an interesting counter to the army. Not only were they a solid counter to one of the best armies out there, but they also won the event! In the last Metawatch, they only had a 51% win rate, and with the recent changes, they came out on top of one of the biggest events of the year!

Not much else has changed since the last Metawatch for AoS, but it is interesting to see armies like Lumineth Realm-lords have viable choices for almost every unit. Bonereapers are still very strong, but a lot of armies were still doing decently. However… with a new edition of AoS dropping soon, we don’t expect them to really make any changes to the game before that drops. So, hopefully, you are enjoying the meta that’s happening now.

We owe thanks to Stat Check who shared the latest win rates for Warhammer 40k.

Again, they didn’t show the win rates, but we have some pretty good data to go off. However, it’s interesting to note that for the first time in a long time, Aeldari isn’t at the top of the meta! In the video, they talk about how tough units and transports, particularly the Rhino and Land Raider, are making a big comeback in the game. It’s awesome to see some staple units come back.

It looks like the NERFS to Chaos Space Marines really took a heavy toll, as their win rate has dropped dramatically. However, with their codex coming soon, we hope that they will make the changes to the faction they need. On the other side of the spectrum, Drukhari went from one of the worst armies out there to breaking above the 50% win rate. The new buffs and the detachment really gave them the boost they needed to be viable.

Maybe Adeptus Mechanicus will get some buffs, as they haven’t done well since the codex drop, while the Necrons have been dominating. So, we expect to see some NERFS coming soon for Necrons, as GW should have had enough time now since the codex dropped to make the necessary changes.

The Warhammer meta at AdeptiCon was exciting, with some surprising outcomes and interesting trends. GW’s efforts to keep the game balanced with their Dataslates, Battlescrolls, Rules Commentary, and FAQs seem to be paying off, as the armies are staying fairly balanced.

With a new edition of AoS dropping soon, we can expect some changes to the game, but until then, we can enjoy the meta that’s happening now. As always, it’s great to see staple units making a comeback and previously weak armies becoming viable once again.
