GW Brought Back the Good Stuff for Boxing Day

GW brought back two popular Warhammer Commemorative minis for Boxing Day, which seems to confirm that there really are no true collectible miniatures from GW.

Games Workshop kicked off the season by cracking open the Grotmas Calendar, then casually dropping the news that two old Commemorative Series minis are marching back onto shelves for Boxing Day 2025.

The same week they dropped that announcement, Games Workshop rolled out even more goodies set to hit carts in time for the holidays. Here is a look at everything they have lined up for Christmas and Boxing Day 2025.

Warhammer Christmas 2025

Chaos Space Marines Are Winding Up for Something Bigger

GW loves a pattern, and this one is familiar. Drop a headline character at Christmas, then roll out the rest of the range the following year. Huron Blackheart showing up right now feels very deliberate, especially with Grotmas hints, Rumor Engine silhouettes, and quiet comments about more minis joining his crew.

This reads less like a one-off Chaos release and more like the opening move of a wider Chaos Space Marines refresh, with Red Corsairs right at the front and plenty of room for Iron Warriors and friends to follow.

Warhammer 40k Christmas Day MTO Mechanicus Terrain Drop

Mechanicus Terrain MTO 2

GW is stuffing your stocking with a whole factory floor of classic industrial terrain, perfect for anyone who wants their battlefield to look like OSHA packed up and went home.

The lineup brings back big hitters like the Generatorum Hub, Galvanic Magnavent, Transterranic Gantries, and the beloved Tectonic Fragdrill, enough to make an Adeptus Mechanicus board feel alive.

Scatter Mechanicus Terrain 2You even get the return of Haemotrope Reactors, Macroplasma Batteries, Servohaulers, and those tiny Mechasite Minoris that scuttle around like they have somewhere important to be.

Scatter Mechanicus TerrainEverything goes up on MTO on Christmas Day and stays open until January 12th,2026, with the usual Made to Order patience test on shipping (up to 180 days).

Horus Heresy Siege Assault Battle Group Pre Order

Siege Assault Battle Group product shot white backgroundThe Siege Assault Battle Group goes live on December 27th with a January 10th shelf date, giving Heresy players a late holiday gift and an early excuse to bother their LGS.

The box is stuffed with new plastics, and if you want those Terminators or Breachers before GW sells them solo, this is the only train leaving the station.

Siege Assault Group 3The price landed a hair higher than expected, but the value is still strong, and the sprues are pure brag fuel. If you want one, lock it in early, since stores are already being pushed to commit, and these will evaporate fast.

Boxing Day: What’s Making a Comeback from 2024?

The Hunter Strikes for the T’au Empire and The Steel Rook for Cities of Sigmar are returning, ready to give collectors something new to argue about over leftover holiday ham.

Both minis were once event exclusives, prized by anyone who actually managed to snag them. Now they’re headed to Warhammer stores on December 26th, with online orders opening on January 10th, 2026, while supplies last.

A dynamic Kroot operative frozen in peak “drop a meme in global chat and vanish” energy. Loved in 2024, then gone faster than a Fire Warrior in melee.

The Steel Rook, Cities of Sigmar

Both minis were highly requested, and GW finally gave in, which leads us to the big question.

Warhammer Boxing Day 2025: Why Bring Them Back Now?

commemorative minisMaybe these models were too popular to keep vaulted. Fair enough. But longtime hobbyists have seen this dance before. When GW wants something back in the rotation, they just do it. There is no vault. There is no sacred exclusivity. There is only plastic, and plastic obeys no rules.

These weren’t widespread in 2024, which means plenty of players probably missed them. So, GW might be offering a soft redo for fans who got stuck on the sidelines the first time. Or maybe they just felt like printing more. Hard to say.

The takeaway is simple: miniatures are not collectible in the traditional sense. If GW can zap a mold back into existence whenever they want, treat “exclusives” like limited-time convenience, not holy relics to lock in a safety deposit box.

Final Thoughts on New Warhammer Boxing Day Miniatures

If you wanted these back in 2024 and missed your shot, this is your easiest path. If you play T’au or Cities of Sigmar, they’re thematic, stylish, and fun to paint. If you’re a collector, this is your chance to slot them into your display without shelling out vintage prices.

They’re limited, so they won’t sit around forever, but they’re not rare in the legendary sense either. Just solid Warhammer minis returning for one more lap.

Either way, treat this reprint for what it is: GW deciding to toss fans a bone and rerun two popular minis. No mystery, no magic, just fresh copies of cool sculpts hitting shelves again.

Grab them if you like them, skip them if you don’t, and keep an eye on the Grotmas Calendar because the holiday mayhem has only just begun.
