GW Reveals New 40k Drukhari Release Lineup After Leak

NEW DRUKHARI MODELS LADY MALYS PAINTED WITH RAIDER BACKGROUND ART WARHAMEMR 40K

Here are all the new 40k Drukhari releases on the way, including Lady Malys, a new Archon, updated rules, two bundle box sets, and our thoughts on it all.

The Drukhari just went from shadows to spotlight thanks to a fresh lineup of Warhammer 40k releases that finally broke wide open after the leak. Games Workshop pulled back the curtain, and now we’ve got Lady Malys stepping onto the stage, a new Archon ready to lead your Kabal, updated codex rules to keep the edge sharp, and not one but two bundle box sets designed to tempt our wallets.

If you’ve been waiting for new Dark Eldar firepower, this drop has plenty to talk about. Let’s get into what’s dope, what’s questionable, and what it all means for your Drukhair army now.

Lady Malys Takes the Stage

Summarize Article:

Lady MalysLeading the charge of new Dark Eldar products is none other than Lady Malys, the infamous Archon of the Poisoned Tongue. She’s bringing her trademark mix of sharp wit and sharper weapons: her barbed longsword and a fan of knives no one would want waved in their face.

Lady Malys Model detailsGW says that her rules will let her twist the battlefield in ways that reflect her devious reputation, making enemies second-guess what’s coming next. The sculpt itself matches art that’s been floating around for a while, and that earlier sprue leak pretty much confirmed Malys was on the way.

And yes, that leak had the rumor mill churning for months before Games Workshop finally confirmed it. Was she supposed to be on the shelf and part of the huge rumored 11th Edition revamp for Drukhari? We might never know, but there was a lot of hype going into the canceled NOVA Open Preview

A New Archon Joins the Fray

New Drukhari ArchonAlongside Malys is a fresh Archon miniature with multiple build options: different bodies, heads, and enough gear to suit whichever flavor of sadism you prefer. It’s a solid centerpiece model for any Kabalite force.

In true GW paywall fashion, the new Archon makes its first appearance in the Realspace Raiders Battleforce. It’s a decent starter set, packed with:

  • 10 Wyches
  • 10 Kabalite Warriors
  • 5 Hellions
  • 5 Scourges
  • 5 Incubi
  • 1 Venom
  • 1 Archon (new kit)

On paper, it’s a tidy mix of fast attack, infantry, and elite killers; perfect for new players starting a Drukhari army.

For veterans? It’s a harder sell. Buying a whole Battleforce just to snag the new Archon model feels like another GW paywall (if you already have a big collection). Let’s hope Games Workshop puts the Archon kit out separately sooner rather than later, because nobody likes a paywall in this economy.

Codex: Drukhari

10th Edition Drukhari CodexThe upcoming Codex: Drukhari promises the usual mix of lore, art, and miniatures galleries, but the big talking point is rules. We’re getting:

  • Five Detachments tailored for different playstyles.
  • Revamped Power from Pain, now a system where each unit has unique Pain abilities activated by spending points.

That’s a big change from the old army-wide pain token system. It should add tons of fun tactical variety, but it also risks bogging the game down in tracking multiple buffs across the board. We’ll have to see how smoothly it plays once the dice start rolling.

New Combat Patrol: Coven of Agonies

Drukhari also gets a fresh Combat Patrol box, which looks to be spot on from the rumors, this time highlighting the twisted creations of the Haemonculi. Inside you’ll find:

  • 1 Haemonculus
  • 10 Wracks
  • 2 Pain Engines (can be built as Talos or Cronos)

It’s themed, it’s flavorful, and it hits hard in close combat. That said, the old Drukhari Combat Patrol was one of the best-value boxes around for building a well-rounded force. If you can still find the older set on shelves, it’s probably the smarter buy for anyone who wants more value.

Final Thoughts From Us: New 40k Drukhari Releases

Drukhari Malys

Here’s the rub for us: Drukhari players have been whispering about a full range refresh, and this feels like a small appetizer before the big meal. With so many Finecast relics still haunting the line, hopes were high that being the last codex army of 10th Edition would mean a bigger overhaul.

Looks like Dark Eldar hobbyists have to wait until 11th Edition for the rumored revamp. Let’s just hope it does come then, cause who wants to get teased like this and then have to wait another three years for a modern model refresh.

Between Lady Malys, the new Archon, and updated rules in the codex, the Drukhari are getting the attention they’ve long deserved. But we can’t blame you for having some mixed feelings; many were hoping for a more comprehensive update to clear away Finecast and refresh the range in earnest.

For now, the best play is to snag the codex, the two new minis, weigh your options on the boxed sets, and keep an eye out for what 11th Edition might bring. If the rumors hold true, Commorragh’s full-scale glow-up is just around the corner.
