Here’s the latest on Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40k movie and Amazon TV show project with Games Workshop
Henry Cavill, the British actor known for his roles in movies such as “Superman” and “The Witcher,” is set to star in and produce a TV show series for Amazon Studios based on the Warhammer 40k franchise.
Amazon and Games Workshop haven’t revealed many details about the Henry Cavill Warhammer project yet. However, we know Henry Cavill will produce and star in the series!
Here’s the latest on what’s happening now, with the Henry Cavill Amazon project.
The Warhammer 40k Cinematic Universe with Henry Cavill
This post was updated on October 27th, 2025, by Rob Baer with the latest Henry Cavill news.
Games Workshop revealed in its 2024-2025 annual report that its lips are sealed on the Henry Cavill Warhammer 40,000 cinematic universe, thanks to a hush-hush contract with Amazon.
They remain pretty tight-lipped about the Henry Cavill Warhammer show, keeping the Warhammer 40k movie details secret.
The only bone they’ve tossed is a vague assurance that their partners, Amazon and Henry Cavill, are taking things seriously and aiming to match the sheer scale and madness of the Horus Heresy or Warhammer 40k movie setting.
While we’re not getting trailers or concept art anytime soon, they did name-drop the Secret Level animated episode as a “taster,”. Either way fans are still waiting for updates on the Warhammer film and Amazon’s Warhammer 40k show.
Bottom line: nothing to see yet, but it sounds like the bolter rounds are being loaded behind the scenes.
Warhammer 40k Show Casting News & Henry Cavill Rumors
There are plenty of celebrities who are involved in the Warhammer hobby (and would probably love to be in a Warhammer film), but we always love to see more, even if they are just rumors!
Here’s the latest Henry Cavill Warhammer News.
Cavill, Contracts & Chaos: What’s Holding Up Pandaemonium?
The latest Henry Cavill Warhammer news is that the superfan and executive producer of the upcoming Amazon 40k universe might be tying up the Eisenhorn storyline for the small screen, and it looks like the books are being paused to keep the lore clean and synced.
Recently, author Dan Abnett hinted that the Henry Cavill Warhammer project may be influencing his Bequin series timeline.
Here’s the scoop: Abnett says the third Bequin book Pandaemonium is on hold because of “reasons” he can’t talk about. Cue wild speculation that those reasons rhyme with Cavill and Amazon.
A Reddit post (grain of salt, but still) claims Abnett hinted the delay is to avoid lore clashes with the show. Which suggests Pandaemonium could seriously shake up the canon.
Translation? Eisenhorn isn’t just Cavill’s passion project; it might be the launchpad for Warhammer TV and the Henry Cavill Amazon colab.
Tom Cruise Warhammer 40k Show Rumors
Rumors from 2025 about Tom Cruise joining the Henry Cavill Warhammer show remain unconfirmed, with no official word from Games Workshop or Amazon.
Gary Oldman Spotted at Warhammer World!
View this post on Instagram
An internet fan poll seems to have cast Gary Oldman as Malacador the Sigilite in Henry Cavill’s new Amazon Studios Warhammer 40k series.
He is quite a prolific actor who has been in so many great films and television series, so it’s fun to see how much he and his family love Warhammer. Most recently, he was spotted with his sons at Warhammer World, but they have been collecting and playing for a long time now!
Of course, Gary Oldman’s visit to Warhammer World sparked speculation about potential casting in the Henry Cavill Warhammer project
So, it’s probable that his appearance at Warhammer World was just a coincidence for him as an actor.
Amazon Studios Warhammer 40k Show Casting Rumors:
These rumors from October 2nd, 2023, come from Valrak, and again, these are not confirmed, so don’t get too excited or mad about what you’re about to read!

Amazon Studios Warhammer 40k Show Casting Wishlisting
- Karl Urban– He has been in some of the best fantasy/sci-fi movies out there. From LotR, Dredd, Star Trek, The Boys, and so much more; there’s a chance he could even be Eisenhorn himself.
- Idris Elba– Is another amazing actor involved in plenty of sci-fi. However, not many rumors about what he would be in.
- Ana De Armas– This one seems simple; who looks more like Alizabeth Bequin than her? If you look at the cover, she is so close!
- Henry Cavill– It would only make sense that he would be in the show. We know he’s going to be the executive producer, but there are so many good options for him, including The King in Yellow!
Some people have been pretty down on the Amazon Studios Warhammer 40k series after The Rings of Power. However, with Henry at the helm and with how protective GW is of its IP, things should shape up okay. However, if he does play Highlander, and is in this series, we probably won’t see this for a little while.
We’ll have to see what other projects come out, but Eisenhorn would be the most obvious first step! That book series shows the 40k world in a great way, and there is plenty of action and drama to go on!
Again, though, these are all just rumors, even ones about Cavill leaving the Warhammer project, so take them with all the salt you need!

Henry Cavill Warhammer Show Officially Greenlit by Amazon
Big news for Warhammer fans! After several years of waiting, we’re finally seeing some serious movement on Amazon’s Warhammer 40k show as the Henry Cavill Warhammer project. If you’re as hyped as we are to see the Man of Steel come to 40k, here’s what we know so far.
Amazon Studios and Games Workshop have officially locked in their agreement to adapt the epic Warhammer 40k universe into a full-blown cinematic franchise.
The first step? A Warhammer 40k show (TV series) with multiple stories. Yep, the project has been greenlit, and things are rolling.
The Warhammer 40k Show Deal is Done
Games Workshop confirmed they’ve reached a final agreement with Amazon. This isn’t just about the TV show, it covers films, series, and even merchandising rights. That means you can expect not only epic storytelling but also plenty of cool Warhammer merch to go along with it. We’re also pretty excited, as the Prime Video Secret Level 40k show was amazing!
This all came just in time, too. According to Games Workshop’s financial report, they and Amazon had until December 2024 to finalize the creative guidelines. Thankfully, they’ve hammered out (pun intended) all the details, and now it’s full speed ahead. This means we’ll finally get to see a Henry Cavill Warhammer show!
Henry Cavill: From Warhammer Fan to Amazon Producer
He isn’t just starring in the series; he’s also an executive producer. The Henry Cavill Warhammer project is personal; he’s been a Warhammer fan since he was a kid, and he’s not shy about how much this means to him.
“I have loved Warhammer since I was a boy, making this moment truly special for me,” Cavill said when the project was announced. “The opportunity to shepherd this cinematic universe from its inception is quite the honor and responsibility.”
Cavill recently shared on Instagram that he’s been deep in concept discussions with Games Workshop and Amazon Studios. His team has been sifting through all the incredible lore, from quotes to books, figuring out the best way to bring the new Henry Cavill Amazon Warhammer Universe to life.
What’s Next For the Henry Cavill Warhammer Project?
The TV series will officially kick off the Warhammer 40k cinematic universe. While we don’t have a release date yet for the Warhammer 40k show, the writing team has already put in the work.
They gathered in what’s called a “content-room” to map out the show’s creative direction, and the feedback has been so good that Amazon gave the green light to move forward. Unfortunately, we still don’t know the release date for the Henry Cavill Warhammer project quite yet.
No showrunner has been named either, but we’re guessing that announcement is right around the corner.
In the meantime, Warhammer’s iconic mix of over-the-top sci-fi battles, complex characters, and grim themes has fans counting down the days (well, Games Workshop said years…) until they can see it on screen and actually start the clock for the Warhammer 40k show release date.
Why Henry Cavill is Perfect for the Warhammer 40k Movie:
This isn’t just another sci-fi series; it builds on all the Warhammer 40k movie drops, a franchise with decades of lore, a massive fanbase, and a reputation for being one of the most unique and gritty universes out there.
Between Henry Cavill’s Warhammer passion, Amazon’s production muscle, and Games Workshop’s attention to detail, this could be the franchise’s big moment to break into mainstream entertainment.
From here, the Imperium is just getting started with what GW has dubbed Project One.
