The Miniatures as Art Celebration is coming to Monument Hobbies’ booth 400 at AdeptiCon 2026 with live painting demos, artist feedback, Q&A, and more!
If AdeptiCon is your annual hobby holiday, the Miniatures As Art Celebration is about to become your favorite “between rounds” hangout. Monument Hobbies is throwing a community-first party at booth #400, where the vibe is relaxed, the talent is wild, and your paintbrush gets to do more talking than your dice ever will.
This is not some velvet-rope art show where you’re scared to breathe near a display case. It’s hands-on, chatty, and built for painters who want to level up, whether you’re chasing smoother blends or trying to make your highlights stop looking like chalk.
Miniatures As Art Celebration: What You Can Do at Booth #400
Live Artist Demos You Can Actually Join
These are live painting demos with a twist. You can paint along, ask questions, and learn in real time. Even better, they are providing the essentials: paints, minis, and brushes. If you’ve ever wanted to test new techniques without committing to buying a whole pile of supplies first, this is your moment.
Show up with a goal. Want better faces? Cleaner NMM? Punchier contrast? Pick one skill and chase it during the demo. You will learn faster than trying to absorb everything at once.
Get Feedback on Your Miniature Painting
Bring your latest work and get artist feedback from painters who know how to push a piece from “solid tabletop” to “why is this model staring into my soul.” This kind of critique is priceless, especially if you are trying to improve your miniature painting beyond basic steps.
Ask for one specific fix you can apply immediately, like “Where should the brightest highlight go?” or “How do I improve readability from three feet away?”
Artist Q&A and Hobby Hangout Energy

- Bring up to two models per person
- Single-figure models, vehicles included
- Max 160mm tall (not counting base or frame)
- Max 120mm base diameter
- Submit at booth #400 before noon Saturday
- Cap of 300 submissions total
Judging is “love at first sight,” meaning they want that immediate WOW factor. Clean build, sharp presentation, and a piece that pops on first glance.
If you want that “wow,” focus on three things: strong contrast, a clear focal point, and a color choice that makes the eye land where you want it.
Judges and Prizes
Judges include Dan Ozborne, Vincent Venturella, Krzysztof Kobalczyk, Mally Anderson, Lukas Zaba, and Jason Craze, and they are handing out fun awards like “Best Use of the Color Blue,” plus cash prizes for the Top 3.
Looking Ahead: AdeptiCon 2027 and the MAA Cup

Translation: it is built to help painters grow, not gatekeep.
If you’re going to AdeptiCon 2026 and you care even a little about painting, booth #400 should be on your map. Bring a model, bring a question, and bring your best terrible dad jokes for Jason.
