The new 2025 Astra Militarum Combat Patrol has a release date of February 22nd, 2025, and an increased retail price of $170 (up from $168), like the ones released before it (see below for local currency conversions). Is it Worth It?
Of the newer Combat Patrol boxes we’ve seen, this is actually on the higher end of value. Additionally, you gain access to a highly skilled and elite force. However, it doesn’t come with any of the new Death Korps of Krieg miniatures, but there is an army box for those!
If you want some of the Attilan Rough Riders over the new Death Riders, this is a great box, as you basically get a box of Rough Riders for free! Plus, while some of the newer 10th Edition Combat Patrols have been underwhelming (compared to 9th edition boxes), this one has more value for sure!
How Many Points Is This?
In Warhammer 40k 10th edition, the new Astra Militarum Combat Patrol box racks up about 300 points (about the least we’ve seen). But, as you know, the tides of the Grimdark universe are ever-shifting, and with the latest points updates, that number could quickly fluctuate.

What to Buy Next?
Well, you have a lot of the heavy and fast hitters with this box, but you still need a lot of infantry, and some tanks to give the fire support the Guard needs. Now, while this box is a great starting point, it is only 300-ish points, meaning you’ll still have the vast majority of your army to collect.
So, whether you want more Rough Riders, tanks, or infantry, you’ll have to get a lot. But you can never go wrong with tanks and infantry for Astra Militarum.
OOP 2023 Version:
The Out of Print (OOP) 2023 Imperial Guard Combat Patrol box was the Emperor’s little gift to new players. Released on February 25th, 2023, this set was packed to the brim with 28 models.
The box included a pretty great collection of miniatures with plenty of firepower, and was on the higher end of the value of the old boxes, and is about $20 more than the new box.
At a $168 price tag and an MSRP value of $252, it provided approximately $84.50 in savings, assuming you actually needed everything in the box.
