This has been quite the insane time for Horus Heresy since 2022, with a new edition, a giant starter set, battle group bundles, updated designs in plastic, a new roadmap, and a constant stream of new resin miniatures. So, we’re definitely excited to see where things go from here.

Here are all the upcoming Horus Heresy releases we know are on the horizon, but just don’t ask when. Look for more information to drop shortly about all the new products in this section, soon™.
The Legio Custodes Battle Group Box
The “Battle Group” label is not messing around here. This looks less like a cute bundle and more like a ready-made Custodes force that hits like a truck and refuses to leave the table. You’re getting fresh infantry, a tough objective core, and real armor support all at once. If you want to start Legio Custodes in Horus Heresy, or even pivot into Adeptus Custodes in 40k, this is the kind of set that gets you playing proper games fast.
New Custodian Guard
The new Guard leans hard into the classic Custodes vibe with spears, crests, and that “born to stand in the Emperor’s spotlight” swagger. If you like the iconic look, this is exactly the unit you wanted in plastic.
Custodian Sentinels
Sentinels take the Guard template and crank up the stubborn with warblades and those praesidium shields. They also line up with options for both game systems, so you are not buying something that only lives in one ruleset.
Caladius Annihilator Grav-tank
Custodes tanks always look like museum pieces that woke up angry, and the Annihilator is being pitched as a serious threat in the Age of Darkness. It gives the army a real armored hammer instead of relying on “all infantry, all the time.”
New Plastic Contemptor Kit
This might be the quiet MVP of the reveal since one kit builds either the Achillus or the Galatus. That means you can pick your flavor of pain without hunting down separate boxes.
Achillus build
With the dreadspear and that Damage three callout, the Achillus is clearly here to delete tough targets and punish anyone who thought they were safe. It is the kind of unit that turns “pretty solid plan” into “well, that went badly.”
Galatus build
The Galatus shows up with a sword, a shield, and a flamer baked into the package, which is a rude combo for infantry clearing and staying power. If you want a brick that can push in and keep swinging, this is your pick.
New Shield Captain
Custodes characters need to look like they actually run the room, and this Shield Captain sounds like a proper centerpiece HQ The detail level and customization angle make it feel like a model you will actually enjoy putting front and center.
In the preview around the one minute fifteen second mark, Adam Troke and Eddie Eccles mention this Shield Captain is female. They also pointed out female head options in the Sodality kit, and if you prefer the classic look, a standard helmet swap still keeps everything clean and cohesive.
Venatari
Venatari bring fast, flashy aggression with weapon options like kinetic destroyers with bucklers or the Verutum lance. They are the kind of unit that shows up from an awkward angle and makes sloppy positioning hurt immediately.
A Second Caladius variant
A second Caladius option was teased with a twin Iliastus accelerator cannon, and the preview calls out six Strength eight shots each turn. That profile is the sort of thing that makes medium armor and heavier infantry start reconsidering their life choices.
Coronus Grav Carrier
The Coronus Grav Carrier is being described as a heavily armored transport with speed and Deep Strike, which is exactly how you deliver elite melee without eating two turns of incoming fire. It hauls seven Custodians and brings guns like a twin Arachnus blaze cannon or lastrum bolt cannons, so it can contribute while it delivers the payload.
Liber Custodes
All these kits need a rules and lore home, and Liber Custodes is being set up as the go-to book for running Legio Custodes in Horus Heresy. It also folds in Sisters of Silence, an Agents of the Divisio Assassinorum addendum, plus rules for Constantin Valdor and Jenetia Krole, which screams “full support package” instead of a drip feed.
Myrmidon Destructors Bring Holy Overkill to the Mechanicum
The new kit packs six plastic bruisers loaded with darkfire cannons, weird energy guns, radiation sprayers, and enough spare heads and servo-skulls to make any tech-fanatic grin.
Mechanicum Skitarii (Separate Kits)
At least three new Skitarii plastic kits are on the way. Originally packaged inside the Battle Group box, look for the following kits to drop seperately late winter 2026.

- Battle-Pilgrym Marshal
- Vultarax Stratos
Two New Cataphractii Terminator Squads (Separate Kits)
Two new Cataphractii kits are on the way, one built around power mauls and volkite chargers, the other packing power fists and combi bolters. The loadouts only matter for what is inside the box, so you can still kit out your chunky lads however you want on the table.
Plastic Breachers (Separate Kit)
And yes, plastic Breachers are finally inbound on the Horus Heresy roadmap! These shield-wielding tanks are perfect for Zone Mortalis brawls and trench-line showdowns. Fans have been begging for these, and now they’ll be available inside the Battlegroup first, then as a standalone release at some point.

Previews of the Coming Future in 2026
Space Marines aren’t hogging all the plastic love either; Forge World’s finest are rolling out new troops from Mars, too. This ended up being the new Mechanicum Battle-Pilgryms
Look sharp, there’s also a gleam of auramite steel. Someone very golden is about to arrive in 2026, it seems.
The Horus Heresy never fails to surprise, and in 2025, the Age of Darkness was anything but quiet. Games Workshop said in early 2025 we’d be treated to an array of new tanks and plastic weapon options for existing walkers, and they did not disappoint.
We also got new digital rules that covered just about every flavor of carnage from the Age of Darkness.
New Horus Heresy Rumors That Are Stirring Things Up Again
The redesign of the new Cataphractii Terminators isn’t just a one-off, either. According to rumors, it’s part of a wider push to modernize Heresy models, moving away from aging resin kits toward sleeker, easier-to-build plastics.
The Fire Raptor gunship is supposedly joining that plastic club, too, which means fewer warped wings and more hobby happiness.
Plus, with the Fellblade already in plastic, more super-heavies like the Falchion and Glaive could be next to roll off the production line, especially since they have models in Legions Imperialis now.
More Plastic Primarch Rumors:
For years, Heresy players have fought their greatest battle not on the tabletop, but against resin warping. That nightmare might finally end soon. Multiple sources hint that future Primarchs will be in plastic, starting after Angron Transfigured.
This shift could make the most iconic models in the hobby sturdier, easier to assemble, and, best of all, more widely available.
- Rogal Dorn is rumored to get a new Siege of Terra-themed kit, complete with two loadout options: a massive power sword or a brutal chainsword.
- Vulkan may finally rise again in plastic, fitting nicely with new box art and a rumored revisit of the Isstvan campaign.
- Roboute Guilliman might be reimagined for The Horus Heresy instead of 40k, rounding out the loyalist lineup in true Ultramar fashion.
These moves suggest Games Workshop’s big-picture plan is to modernize every Primarch for the Horus Heresy, giving players centerpiece models that won’t snap under their own resin weight.
And yes, Perturabo’s name keeps coming up. Whispers from the rumor forums suggest the Iron Warriors Primarch himself may be returning, either as part of a new “Ascended” Primarchs line for The Horus Heresy or a lore-driven appearance in the future 40k narrative.
Rumors also point to Abaddon the Despoiler getting a new model in this updated scale, potentially part of a Siege of Terra diorama with his elite Justaerin Terminators.

Legion Imperialis New Releases: December 20th, 2025
The Age of Darkness just got a serious upgrade, and it’s not for the faint of heart, or the lightly armored. Between hulking Saturnine Terminators, rolling fortresses, and enough firepower to make a Titan flinch, these new Legions Imperialis battle groups are here to remind everyone who the real heavy hitters are.
Saturnine Battle Group
The heavy hitters have arrived, and this bundle is basically Vulkan’s dream team of destruction. Inside you’ll find:
- 2 Saturnine Heavy Assault Cadre sets with a total of 12 Terminator squads, 4 Command squads, and 8 Saturnine Dreadnoughts ready to melt anything in sight.
- 1 Araknae Weapons Platform set with 8 platforms that can be armed with quad autocannons, punisher cannons, or frag missile batteries.
- 8 Vindicator Siege Tanks, 2 Mastodon Super-heavy Transports, and 2 Fire Raptors for when subtlety’s not on the menu.
