GW revealed the new Sylvaneth release for 4th edition AoS on Valentine’s Day with a new Grove Guardian, a Battletome, and three bundle boxes that are on the way for the faction.
Warhammer Community just dropped a fresh look at what is shaping up to be a decent Sylvaneth refresh, but the only problem is that there’s only one new miniature.
But the headline act is the brand-new character kit, the Grove Guardian, landing alongside a new Battletome: Sylvaneth, plus three bundle box sets that hit three different hobby needs: value, game entry, and cross-faction utility.
If you play Sylvaneth, or stared at that Treelord kit (the battleforce has three) and thought “yeah, I should probably start this army,” this is one of those release waves that makes it easy.
New Sylvaneth Grove Guardian: The Prettiest Problem-Solver in Ghyran
- Sylvaneth got a Valentine’s Day reveal for AoS fourth edition: one new mini, a new Grove Guardian, plus a fresh Battletome: Sylvaneth.
- The “refresh” is mostly rules + boxes: updated lore/rules and updated warscrolls for all twenty-five entries, but only one new sculpt.
- Battleforce: Strongroot Grove is big-tree value: three Treelords (Ancient/Durthu options) plus six Kurnoth Hunters.
- Spearhead: Spitewing Flight is the fast, annoying one: Arch-Revenant, Revenant Seekers, Spiterider Lancers, and Gossamid Archers for speed and board control.
- Regiment of Renown: The Twisted Branch is the ally package: a Branchwych and the Twistweald warband, built to slot into other factions for narrative and mixed lists.

New Battletome: Sylvaneth Is Coming With Updated Warscrolls

Sylvaneth Battleforce: Strongroot Grove Is a Treelord Party, and It’s Glorious

What’s in the Strongroot Grove battleforce
- 3x Treelords, buildable as:
- Treelord
- Treelord Ancient
- Spirit of Durthu
- 6x Kurnoth Hunters
This is one of those Sylvaneth boxed sets that screams get all the big trees on the board. You don’t get many minis, but the ones you do get are all huge.
Sylvaneth Spearhead: Spitewing Flight Is Built to Win the Movement Game

What’s in the Spitewing Flight Spearhead
- 1x Arch-Revenant
- 3x Revenant Seekers
- 3x Spiterider Lancers
- 5x Gossamid Archers
This box is all about speed, board control, and making your opponent feel like they brought the wrong shoes to the game.
Regiment of Renown: Twisted Branch Takes Sylvaneth Weirdness on Tour

What’s in the Twisted Branch Regiment of Renown
- Branchwych
- Twistweald warband (formerly Warcry), featuring:
- eight warriors
- led by a Swarmsage
The vibe here is “helping against Nurgle whether you asked or not,” which is exactly the kind of chaotic good energy the setting needs.
AoS in 2026: Games Workshop Looks Like It’s Loading Spring With Refreshes

It also feels like GW could be stacking spring with Age of Sigmar releases, potentially leaving the summer spotlight for whatever 40k has cooking next. If 11th edition 40k is going to dominate later in the year, it makes sense for AoS to get a proper runway first.
Final Thoughts on the New Sylvaneth for AoS
A new Sylvaneth mini, a new Battletome: Sylvaneth, and boxed sets that cover value, entry play, and cross-faction utility are a strong release mix. Whether you are starting Sylvaneth, expanding an existing force, or just looking for a standout painting project, this wave has something that hits. Still, it can be a little disappointing when only one new mini hits your faction for the cycle, but that’s pretty common for recent releases.
