Thousand Sons 40k Combat Patrol Review
This is the ultimate psychic force, loaded with 15 miniatures ready to storm the battlefield and obliterate anything in their path. If your enemies thought they could hold the line, they’re in for a rude awakening.
It’s like assembling an all-star team right out of the gate, plus you can even play this box as is in smaller games of Warhammer 40k, aptly called “Combat Patrol.”

Is it Worth It?
Of the newer CPs we’ve seen, this is actually on the higher end of value. Plus, you get a Daemon Prince, which is just cool! If you grab the army box, this actually works pretty well as a supplement, by giving you plenty of marines, more character power, and they just work well together!
While some of the newer 10th Edition Combat Patrols have been underwhelming (compared to 9th edition boxes), this one has more value than the previous ones we’ve seen.
How Many Points Is This?
So, you’re wondering how many points the Thousand Sons Combat Patrol box racks up, eh? Well, in Warhammer 40k 10th edition, this box hits with about 500 points (at least in our rough estimates; it could change once the codex comes out). But, as you know, the tides of the Grimdark universe are ever-shifting, and with the latest points updates, that number could quickly fluctuate.

What to Buy Next?
Well, you have a lot of the melee heavy hitters with this box, but you need to decide which detachment you want to play. You can always grab a bunch more Rubric Marines, Scarab Occult Terminators, vehicles, and heroes to maraud across the battlefield, or get some Daemons and all the Tzaangors you could want! Also, how can you go wrong with Magnus the Red?
So, while this box is a great starting point, it is only 500ish points, meaning you’ll still have the vast majority of your army to collect. Still, you can never go wrong with collecting what you think looks cool! As the meta will always change, the rule of cool always stays.
Of course, if you can find the Warpflame Thrallband Battleforce, that would be worth it as well!
Final Thoughts on the Thousand Sons Combat Patrol
The new Thousand Sons Combat Patrol box is basically Warhammer’s version of a mic drop. It’s got big names, brutal hitters, and a Daemon Prince who’s clearly not here to negotiate. If you’re building up a Chaos army or just need an excuse to add more blue-stained plastic to your backlog, this set does the job—and then some.
They are also coming out at the perfect time to fight the new Space Wolves!
Is it the most budget-friendly CP box out there? Not quite. But between the solid savings and the sheer cool factor of these units, it’s definitely one of the better ones we’ve seen recently.
