1st Place: Cody Jiru, Drukhari Army Lists (Dark Eldar)

This Drukhari, Spectacle of Spite list plays the classic game of “hit first, trade up, and never let the opponent take a clean turn.” It wants to flood the mid-board with fast bodies, force awkward fights, then let the real killers pick the best targets while the utility pieces quietly rack up points.

Lady Malys is the list’s steady hand. She is not here to be flashy; she is here to keep the plan from falling apart when the opponent tries to shove back. Next, Lelith Hesperax is the marquee damage dealer, the kind of blender that makes infantry units disappear and flips the tone of a fight instantly.

Then the three Succubi stack the same threat pattern in layers. Each enhancement is basically a different way to make the first fight swing harder or make the clap-back worse, so the opponent never gets a comfortable “sure, that trade is fine” moment.

Four units of Wyches are the engine and the objective pressure. They are the bodies that actually touch mid-board points, jump into combats to shut off shooting, and force nasty fall back decisions. They are also the list’s most disposable scoring pieces, which is exactly the point. Wyches die, but they die after stealing time and space.

The Raiders and the Venom are what make those trades possible. They deliver the melee threats, stage safely behind terrain, and create angles that turn one opening into two or three threats at once. The guns are not the main event, but they matter for clearing screens and finishing wounded units so Lelith and the Succubi do not waste a turn on junk.

The Cronos is the support and sustain piece that helps the army keep trading past the first wave. Hellions are the tempo swingers, with the big unit acting as a fast bully that can flip a flank, while the two small units handle screens, quick trades, and last-minute point steals.

Mandrakes are pure utility and cause scoring trouble, popping up where they should not be to pressure backfield space and perform actions. Reavers are the extra mobility tool, grabbing an objective, threatening a cheeky heat lance shot, then bailing.

Finally, the triple Scourges are the ranged kill switches. Two dark lance teams crack armor and punish exposed monsters, and the haywire unit gives you a nasty answer to vehicles that think they can shrug off the rest of your list.

How This Drukhari Army List Scores

It scores by getting onto objectives early with boats and Wyches, then keeping the opponent tied up in bad positions while Mandrakes, Reavers, and small Hellion units handle actions and late-game steals.

The damage dealers, Lelith and the Succubi, clear the key objective holders, and the Scourges remove the pieces that would otherwise bully the mid-board.

Final Thoughts From Us: Wizard’s Winter GT

table tournament warhammer 40k players engaged

At the Wizard’s Winter GT, the Drukhari played keep-away and punished every overstep, the Dark Angels parked on the important real estate like they owned the deed, and the Necrons did the classic metal skeleton routine: take the hits, get back up, and let everyone else run out of gas first.

Each faction brought a different kind of problem to the top tables, and there’s something to steal from all of them, whether that’s Drukhari speed and timing, Dark Angels board control, or Necrons grinding value until the opponent blinks.

All of it landed in the shadow of the Balance Dataslate updates, and that is the real story heading into the new year. The meta is shifting, lists are getting rebuilt, and players are scrambling to tighten the screws on their combos before the next event cycle hits. In 40k, standing still is just another way to lose.
