Book of Grudges-Thrower: Another New GW Rumor Engine
Right out of the gates, GW introduced the new Engine by saying this:
Like all Votann, the Rumour Engine is stuffed full of secrets lost within its wizened digital architecture, with no way of knowing when they might surface… or why. Here’s yet another blessing from the Ancestor Core.
Which makes a guess for the bit much easier; it might just be another new Votann model!
Just like that shiny new Exo-Armor for the Squats that was recently revealed.
Not quite Votann, but close! After all, the flying dwarves came before the space dwarves (well sorta.)

Seraphon Power Up in New GW Rumor Engine
Immediately after looking at this new rumor engine, there seem only to be two possibilities… Necrons and Seraphon, but given the nature of the markings on the ring, we are definitely leaning way more towards this being something for our favorite Lizardmen.
Dead-on with this one; there’s no mistaking that iconography.

Wolverine Is Jealous of these New Claws: GW Rumor Engine
This one is pretty easy to place in Chaos or Tyranids, but that being said, the metal claws make it much more likely for chaos! (It’s possible to be in AoS, but more likely for 40k)
Another spot-on prediction, but it wasn’t too hard to place.

Necrons Strike Back: New GW Rumor Engine
This new bit has quite a few possibilities, but the main options seem to lean towards Necrons or Orks, Chaos, and even Necromunda!
This didn’t jump out as being the same model as above, but looking at it now, it all makes sense!

Not Quite Enough To Fly: New GW Rumor Engine
This new bit is clearly some sort of staff or headdress with feathers slotted into it, making the list pretty slim for possibilities. Our best bet is that this will be Seraphon!
Another easy guess, thanks to Seraphon’s unique iconography.

Smoke Out, Take Cover: New GW Rumor Engine
When we first saw this, we instantly recognized it as a smoke effect or grenade, and since we’ve got another unsolved smoke grenade bit, this one is probably leaning more towards Imperium.
Looks like we should have stayed with our gut since this ended up being Orks and not Imperium!
February 28th, 2023
Skulls ‘n Staffs: New GW Rumor Engine
Looking at this rumor engine, two main possibilities came up due to the protruding bits and skull: Specialist Chaos or some form of Eldar worshiping Khaine.
We got close but just missed the mark; this was plain old chaos, not specialist games…
April 12th, 2022
Lookout Duty: GW Rumor Engine
Right out of the gate, the Armor style looks much more in line with AoS themes, meaning it’s probably for Age of Sigmar or a specialist game in the setting. Additionally, the Armor looks a little similar to Sigvald, meaning there may be a new armored model incoming!
The comparison to Sigvald was spot-on, as it was a different HQ for Slaanesh!

Slaanesh Slashes Into Frame With a New GW Rumor Engine
For first impressions, this new curved sword creams AoS and looks like two potential factions in particular. One is Mortal Slaanesh units with its leather gloves and curved sword, and the other is maybe a revamped Black Ark Corsair for the rumored Dark Aelves’ re-appearance with Malekith/Maleron.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t Dark Elves returning to AoS, but we can still hope!
June 21st, 2022
Poison Ork Gas: New GW Rumor Engine
While this engine doesn’t scream anyone one faction or another, something about it looks like Orks. Of course, it could be a plethora of factions and races in both AoS and 40k…
This wasn’t Orks at all. It was Beastmen in Kill Team, a fabulous surprise!
September 6th, 2022
Cherry Blossoms & Poxes: New GW Rumor Engine
This Rumor engine scratches our brainstorming and theory-crafting itch! While it doesn’t like a potential tree with poxes for something Nurgle, Warhammer Total War 2 recently got a resurgence thanks to Immortal Empires breathing life back into the game…
That’s Important because the high-Asia-inspired Cathay is a major faction there!
No, Cathay, but this new Farsight is a fantastic model for sure.

A Big Gun & a Big Holster: GW Rumor Engine
This go-around is very clear. A gun in a holster! The speculation comes in regarding the size and faction. We guess that it’s a large gun based on the small handle, either a large pistol or shotgun, and the style of the holster might suggest it’s meant for a large model to hold with one hand…
Not a large model, but one with large hands!
November 22nd, 2022
Eight Pointed Chaos Stones: GW Rumor Engine
This new rumor engine might be hard to place what it is, but there’s no questioning who it’s for at all! This is Chaos all day with that giant 8-pointed star on it! Game system and model guesses are a little tougher though for sure.
Chaos was the easy part, but there’s no way we could have guessed 40k Beastmen!
November 29th, 2022
Prepare For Take-Off: New GW Rumor Engine
This mini-rocket engine looks pretty similar to a recent faction release in 40k… and that faction is Votann! But, really, this could be for the Imperium, too, as there are rumors of a new Primais Jet Pack!
Not a Primaris Jet Pack, but a Votann one!
December 6th, 2022
Chaos Claims Another Skull: New GW Rumor Engine
This new engine bit is clearly Chaos, but whether it’s Warhammer 40k or a specialist game is harder to guess… Bionic eyes are kinda rare, though, so GW might be meme-ing a bit here with the recent uncertainty of Yarrick.
Another surprising bit was solved thanks to Beastmen in this go-around.
December 13th, 2022
A Hatchet For Christmas: New GW Rumor Engine
This new engine bit is clear as day. A sheathed hatchet! But placing it is a bit harder. While we are leaning towards Order in AoS, it could really be anything, even in 40k!
A little hard to see, but that left model has this hatchet on him.
December 20th, 2022
All I Want For Christmas Is a Lasgun: New GW Rumor Engine
This rumor engine is clearly a futuristic gun, making it *almost* guaranteed to be in 40k, but it could also be a specialist release! A new double-barrel Lasgun would be pretty cool, but other guns are possible, like even Leagues of Votann!
It looked like a double barrel, but it was actually a triple barrel!
January 3rd, 2023
Humans Strike Again: New GW Rumor Engine
This hand ready to strike could be a few different factions, but really three main possibilities come to mind; Imperium, Necrons, and Necromunda…
We thought it was a human race, but no! It was the humanoid Beastmen.
January 31st, 2023
Lizard Bonkin’ Stick: New GW Rumor Engine
This engine bit immediately looked like Seraphon to us, with their tribal blunt weapon style. That being said, they also just had some model reveals, so if this is true we might not see the new model for a while…
Last up, one final easy Seraphon guess to take us home!

New Necrons Initializing: GW 40k Rumor Engine
Thanks to the very unique cube effect, this bit is very easy to place. It is almost certainly a Necron bit, either for 40k or maybe Kill Team. There’s also a slight chance it could be some repurposed gear that an inquisition agent got a hold of, but that’s always the case with Xenos gear bits!
May 10th, 2022
Lizards & Evil Robots: Another New GW Rumor Engine
This spear looks sweet, and there’s no questioning that it’s definitely for poking enemies. However, in an interesting twist, the two factions that come to mind couldn’t be further apart! The blade looks strangely Necron, while everything else looks mostly Seraphon…
So whose is it anyway?
June 28th, 2022
Malerion Rises With The Dark Elves: New GW Rumor Engine
This new big arm could belong to a variety of factions. We want to be optimistic about a sweet new Malerion model which has been rumored on and off since the introduction of AoS, but really this could be nearly anything. The only thing that’s clear is it’s a bigger model and probably isn’t so nice.
July 19th, 2022
Strike a Pose: New GW Rumor Engine
This new bit looks strange at first, but if you think about perspective and aspect ratio, the mace may be further behind the hand, so it’s actually bigger than it looks! Perhaps a pose akin to the Obi-Wan battle pose?

A Not So Chaos Polearm: New GW Rumor Engine
Last week there were hints about something new and chaos-themed for the rumor engine, but this is noticeably not so.
The time has almost come, the Rumour Engine is swirling with more energy than ever before, and we’re only a few moments away from whatever grand design it has in store. Before the Dark Powers usher us into a new and brighter future, we have just one more vision of a forthcoming release to prepare us for the greatness that awaits.
Isn’t it wonderful? The warp has this and more to share – so the Engine tells us – if only we embrace it. We don’t see any downside to this, so let us know what you think this week’s Rumour Engine image is on the Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000, and Warhammer Age of Sigmar Facebook pages while we get everything ready for next week’s grand ascension.
So, while they often write these like this, this is the first time they really mention any finality. They said this week will be the grand ascension and that only one more vision is left. To us, this feels like their way of telling us next week will be a big reveal and a change in how they reveal rumors.

Skeletons Adorn Flames & Fur: Rumor Engine
When you first look at this, it almost looks like a skely on the back of some kind of beast, but if you flip the picture, it starts to look a lot like flames.
September 13th, 2022
Sneaky Spider Slashers: New GW Rumor Engine
This is clearly a spider’s head! That means a clear likely release for either one of two AoS factions. Gloomspite Gits and their spider riders or Chaos and their Spider Cult that was spotlighted in Warcry as a Warband. That being said, we really hope it’s Gitz, as they need the help and probably even a rework soon!
October 4th, 2022
A Destruction Elder: New GW Rumor Engine
Looking at this, a few things are almost certain. This is most likely in AoS and is for Destruction or maybe Soulblight Gravelords. Gravelords have more “old-age” looking models, so the cane is probably more on the theme for them.
The only real 40k possibility is probably Kroot, but it’s very unlikely.
October 11th, 2022
A Child’s Toy: New GW Rumor Engine
Looking at this one, well, it could be a lot of things, so we are kinda stumped! It could be something like Adeptus Mechanicus, Dark Mechanicus, or even Necrons, but it’s just not clear. Nothing currently released really looks like it. (It does, however, look similar to the shape game kids play!)
November 1st, 2022
Smokestacks Don’t Belong Upside-Down: GW Rumor Engine
This is a hard engine to place because it can practically be any faction in 40k (besides a few outliers). That being said, one faction is more known for big diesel-like trucks, and that’s Orks!
November 15th, 2022
Under Lock and Key: GW Rumor Engine
This new rumor engine is very clearly a lock on a circular piece of metal, but that doesn’t make it easy to place! It could be terrains like a man-hole-style hatch or even part of a new vehicle. Who knows!
January 10th, 2023
Smoke & Mirrors: New GW Rumor Engine
Right when we saw this engine, two possibilities came up first. Some kind of trader in Necromunda and Hedonites of Slaanesh in AoS.
February 14th, 2023
Axing The Emperor: New GW Rumor Engine
Looking at this rumor engine, two main possibilities came up due to the iconic power/lightning weapon: Sisters of Battle, and Adeptus Mechanicus.
March 7th, 2023
New Votann Force Push: GW Rumor Engine
A big hand on a shorter arm meant one thing to us right away: Probably a new Votann (which has been a rumor). Not to mention this pose is already found on another model for the faction!
March 14th, 2023
A Duo of Spears: New GW Rumor Engine
Looking at this new bit, we think Realmlords are definitely probable, but it still could be something else too! We are reasonably sure it’s for AoS and not 40k, though…
March 21st, 2023
More Ogors on the Way: New GW Rumor Engine
Right away this hammer reminded us about Ogors, which is a clear fit, but it could technically also be for Sons of Behemat or even Orruks… Still, Ogors seem like the best guess right now!
March 21st, 2023
Lizards & Teef: New Seraphon GW Rumor Engine
Immediately after looking at this, we thought of two factions in AoS, Orruks (the more Savage kind) and Seraphon! These two aren’t guaranteed, but they do seem the most likely currently.
That is it for this one; what new previews do you think we’ll see next?
