Here is the latest GW new release roadmap leading into August, featuring tons of minis for most of the Warhammer games on the way!

Love GW miniatures? Well, the new release roadmap is back and more loaded than ever headed into August of 2022. We’re not joking either we mean loaded, there are a ton of minis on the way!

Between rules leaks and rumors for Squats, Horus Heresy, and AoS, there look to be all sorts of releases coming for them as well too.

GW Announces Cursed City Re-release & New Expansions!

This set sold out quickly when it was released, and many of you have been in touch to ask if it will be back. Today we can confirm that it will indeed rise again. For those of you that missed out the first time round, this is your chance to get your hands/bestial claws on some of the best Citadel miniatures of 2021, as well as the amazing co-operative Warhammer game. Look out for news on exact release dates in the new year.

Finally, if it’s not enough that Cursed City is returning, it will also be accompanied by expansions, so your adventure into Ulfenkarn can grow and continue with even more dramatic twists and turns. Spoiler alert: Radukar isn’t dead – he’s just really, really angry!

The box originally sold for $199, so we expect the re-release to go for around the same, which would be nice because it is more expensive on the secondary market. Again, they didn’t give an exact date on the actual release for the base set and expansions besides 2022, but we hope it’s sooner than later!

GW New Release Roadmap For August 2022 & Beyond

Before diving into the confirmed release, let’s cover some rumors about what battletomes might also be among the first releases for 2022.

Gloomspite Gitz

Again, this is about a 3-year-old book, with how much things have changed with AoS in that time, not to mention a new edition, they need a little bit of work. They are still performing okay but could use some reworks.

We’re not sure what new minis they will get, as their model line isn’t that old. Still, they will probably get a new champion or two, or at least a couple of reworks.

Ogors

Let’s just say we are hoping beyond hope this is true, and that basically, they get a rehaul on almost all of their minis! We don’t even care about the book so much, just the need for some new minis! S0rry gluttons, your time may have come…

A large portion of their units is from before the change over to AoS, meaning they haven’t been touched in years and years. This could be a massive overhaul, or if GW doesn’t feel like it, maybe they just redo a unit or two. Let’s just hope that’s not the case!

Beasts of Chaos

You know an army needs a rework when the pictures on the site for multiple of their units are still on square bases. It’s like GW just didn’t even care enough to change them to the new format over the years.

So, yeah, they need a rework and new minis! Maybe they and Ogors can come in a new starter box together with all new minis! One can dream, but according to these rumors, we don’t have that long to wait until we know for sure

RUMORS New Bundle Box Sets Coming to Age of Sigmar

The first box is said to be Gloomspite Gitz vs Beasts of Chaos. This box is going to be full of new minis, so be on the lookout! We have also heard of Gitz vs. Slaves to Darkness too.

Then supposedly will be Start Collecting for Ogors, with Ossiarch Bonereapers getting the box after that. Slaves to Darkness are also getting some love in the way of an upgrade sprue (like the Cadian one) and brand new Chosen.

Lastly, we’re not sure about the box, but the upcoming Oath Breakers (Chaos Dwarves) will be kicking off the “Broken Realms” of the new edition, but that’s supposedly not coming until 2023.

Gloomspite Gitz vs Beasts of Chaos?

This will be a dual army box, meaning if you play either side, you’ll be getting new stuff! The gobbo side of things will see a new Scuttleboss on Giant Spider. While the old mini isn’t too bad, it’s really nothing to write home about.

While that’s nice, Beasts of Chaos will be getting a whole host of new minis! They will be getting three new minis, Doombull, Bullgor, and Jabberslythe. All three of those kits really need a rework (not to mention everything they have). 

Gloomspite Gitz & Slaves to Darkness AoS Battlebox?

The Gitz Battletome is about a 3-year-old book, which is quite old with how much things have changed with AoS in that time. Not to mention a new edition of the rules.  If we had to guess they may need a little bit of work. Whereas the Slaves to Darkness have not grabbed as many updates as we would expect for them or even had new models in quite some time (start collecting box aside), so hopefully they get some awesome new minis.

We’re not sure what new minis Gloomespite Gitz will get, however, as their model line isn’t that old. Still, they will probably get a new champion or two, or at least a couple of reworks.

Start Collecting Ogors

According to the rumors, they will be getting a new box along with their upcoming new book. In that, they will grab a new plastic Slaughtermaster/Butcher. This is great because they’ve needed an update for a long time. Not sure if they will be grabbing other new minis or not, but at least they can look forward to one new one for sure. 

 Ossiarch Bonereapers

They received some new stuff for Underworlds, so that’s usually a good precursor to new minis for AoS. This probably won’t happen for a while, but it looks like they will be getting a new hero on foot and Mortek Archers. So two new units is something you can’t complain about!

Umbraneth

It all started when they did a preview of Shadow, Iron, and Broken Realms and revealed this shadowy artwork. It reminded us of Malerion taking a new form. Some of you may have heard of the name “Malerion” aka Malekith aka the Witch King before from the world that was… We’ve also seen a little short story of him talking to Morathi and the fact that he is finally manifesting himself into the mortal realms.

Well, he needs an army to lead, so we expect them to be kind of like dark elves in a sense. We haven’t seen any minis, but this looks like GW has been setting them up for a long time now. If you want to read more about the initial time we thought they were coming, check that out here.

According to this new rumor though, these will be near the end of 2022 at the earliest…

Looking into 2023

It looks like Seraphon vs. Skaven will be the first battle box of 2023, but that’s pretty far off and not super confirmed. So take that with as much salt as you need; we’ll just have to wait and see on yet one more thing.

Global disruptions seem to be putting more and more releases farther and farther out. Before, we used to be able to tell when a new edition of any game would drop.  These days however, look for more time to pass in increments of years between editions as well.

It is worth noting that if this rumor is true, Skaven will end up getting two battle boxes as they are confirmed to be in Echoes of Doom releasing  Summer of 2022.

Oath Breakers

While it’s been a long time since we’ve seen a full-scale release for them, minis released here and there for a long time now from Forge World- which have since disappeared.

Let’s be honest, this would just be a really cool rework of an army that never really got its day in the sun (well, maybe they did about ten years ago). With these being the last of the three mentioned, we’re not really sure when we would see them, but they are probably who we are most excited for!

They have some really cool old minis to style the new army on, and with the sculpts GW has been putting out, they could look amazing! Unfortunately, according to the rumors, they won’t be hitting the game until 2023 or later…

New AoS Slaves To Darkness Ogroid Theridons Revealed by GW!

Theridons are shock-assault infantry par excellence, corded with thick muscle and standing head and shoulders above lesser, human warriors. Their speed and bulk carries them straight through enemy lines with an unstoppable horn-tipped charge, swinging colossal axes as easily as an aelf would flick a paintbrush.

Once possessed of a mighty empire that stretched across great swathes of Ghur, the ogroids – known to themselves as Goroans – fought alongside Gorkamorka’s hordes, seeking the Destruction of all that threatened their civilisation. Unfortunately, the Bonesplitterz aren’t the most reliable neighbours, and the Goroan empire fell to rampaging greenskins. 

 

What remained of the Goroans were enticed by Archaon with promises of a new home, secure against all invaders – the land that would become the Eightpoints. There, under the shadow of the Varanspire, the ogroids raise dark citadels, forge mighty weapons, and serve as overseers in the armies of Chaos. 

And from the recent AoS Slaves to Darkness Battletome leaks we may already know their rules as well:

These rules seem to confirm a squad-type unit for the Ogroid Theridons, which looks pretty cool!

As you can see, the new warriors are far more dynamic, have more weapon options, and just look way better! They are keeping the old models’ feel, but just giving them a super update!

Plus, it looks like the Warcry Warriors are getting a permanent home in the Slaves To Darkness Battletome as well!

Some of the Chaos Warriors above appear to be similar poses to the new push-fit ones from the 2020 Start Collecting box set.

With so many leaks and confirmed minis by GW, we hope the battletome is still on track for Fall/Winter!

As you can see, there are all kinds of new models included! According to the Reddit comments, here is everything new in the pic:

Then the other picture we have is this awesome model, which is supposedly Eternus by the looks of the Warscroll that was spotted earlier!

If you want a badass leader, then this might just be perfect, and you could easily see this guy walking directly out of an ’80s album cover or piece of art (Death Dealer, anyone?).

New Age of Sigmar Lumineth Realm-lords & Tzeentch Battlebox Arcane Cataclysm!

 Inside the box, you’ll find 55 finely detailed Citadel miniatures – perfect for starting new armies or adding to existing ones. There are also new battleplans and rules to play out the epic confrontation between these two ancient enemies.

55 minis are quite the amount, but if you look at it, it’s basically the previous army box for Lumineth and the last 3 boxes for Tzeentch put into one. Still, it’s a decent number of minis.

The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed the points values for the Scinari Enlightener in the recent Warhammer Age of Sigmar updates. Now, you can get your first glimpse of this powerful mage that uses the symmetry and symbolism of Hysh as a weapon

If you saw this in the points and wondered what this was, here you go! The model itself is pretty cool but nothing too crazy, honestly. Still, nothing wrong with getting new minis.

This mighty wizard is accompanied into battle by units of Vanari Dawnriders, Vanari Bladelords, and Vanari Auralan Sentinels, forming the rigid core of an aevlen army.

As we said, this is basically the same as the previous box, but depending on the price, it could be a decent value, and the units inside are useful.

Disciples of Tzeentch

While the Scinari Enlightener is a pure wizard, the Curseling is also pretty handy in a fight (as you might expect from someone with that many extra hands), especially when he’s backed up by Tzaangor Enlightened, Kairic Acolytes, and a horde of Tzaangors.

The Changeling is pretty cool, and because of them being part of the box, we might be able to expect more rules updates for them soon.

The rest of the box is pretty interesting, with plenty of minis to be had, although many are the same as previous battlebox and battle force offerings.

The box also includes a 56-page core rulebook featuring new battleplans, a token sheet, and warscroll cards for all the units in the box, so you’re all ready to get your Lumineth Realm-lords and Disciples of Tzeentch onto the tabletop.

This has become standard for the army boxes, and it’s always nice to grab them in the bigger boxes.

New AoS Black Library Books & Models!

These models will get their own new books from Black Library and the models! Pretty sweet, and they said both models would have rules in Age of Sigmar as well for sure.

 

First up is Drekki Flynt, along with the Arkanaut’s Oath! If you’ve been hankering for a new book and mini, then this is right up your alley.

Heart of Ghur Season

It looks like lots of new expansions are coming each quarter for the new season of Warcry in 2022!

The new boxed set features both of these warbands alongside the stunning Gnarlwood scenery, and it’s just the beginning of a dramatic new season of Warcry. Heart of Ghur will be followed up with major quarterly releases featuring brand new miniatures, and more terrain to expand your corner of the Gnarlwood.

New Warcry Horns of Hashut Warband (Separate Release)

These mortal followers of the god Hashut venture out in front of his all-conquering legions, seeking lands worthy of domination. They’re the vanguard of devastation and despair in a brutal machinery of endless war… and they have some very impressive hats.

The human followers of Hashut seek out places that would make for perfect foundries. They see themselves on a religious journey to cleanse the world for Hashut.

The models are pretty sweet, and we have heard rumors of Chaos Dwarves getting a full new book and models. Guess what, they are called the Legions of Hashut, so this is the perfect segway into the army coming to fruition!

Centaurion Marshal

As a Chaos Ally, this quarrelsome quadruped can be taken by a host of warbands – and as you might expect from someone wielding four weapons at once, he’s very handy in a fight.

This was actually leaked as something coming for Slaves to Darkness, so it looks like you’ll be able to play this in both systems. As in the table of contents above, you can see it on pg 116.

 

This is the New Daemon Prince Kit For Chaos Space Marines!

This is the section of the kit we saw last week, but the one kit will be able to make all kinds of variations!

This fearsome arch-fiend can be built in numerous ways, with different options to pay homage to each of the four dark gods, or Chaos Undivided! You’ll note that he bears some of the marks of his former existence as a Chaos Space Marine, now rippling and twisted into a horrifying new form.

Of course, this battlefield behemoth will have a datasheet to match his prowess. We aren’t quite ready to reveal that just yet, but you can bet your bottom credit that he’ll be a match for the best the Dark Millennium has to offer.

This massive, evil-eye-popping miniature – if you can even call it a “miniature” – won’t be out for a while yet. We’ll certainly have more information on what this fantastic fiend can do in due course, however. Incredibly, he’s part of a dual kit – you’re also able to build the Daemon Prince for Warhammer Age of Sigmar, albeit with very different accessories.

New Chaos Space Marines Possessed

Whether you’re a devout Word Bearer eager to share your body with a creature of the warp, an unfortunate victim of your Legion’s Master of Possession, or simply want to field a spectacular squad of devastating daemonkin, these warped and mutated creatures will fit into any force from the new codex.

 

Heavy-hitting half-daemons offer some monstrous melee power, making them a great way to back up a gathered mob of Cultists. Fortunately, there’s a new box of miniatures on the way to represent those motley mortals foolish or ambitious enough to throw in their lot with the Dark Gods.

First up are a totally new kit for the Possessed that is scaled up to 40mm bases and stands shoulder to shoulder with a Primaris in Gravis armor. The kit looks like there will be many bits, and they even mention it is a big, multi-part kit.

Accursed Cultists Torments

These grosteque guys lend a classic Lost and Damned feeling to any army of Traitoris Astartes – and they’ll be a welcome addition for any Chaos Lord who enjoys commanding a Cultist-heavy horde of mortal rabble, whether it’s an Alpha Legion rebel cell or the indentured helots of the Iron Warriors.

But wait, there is more for the cultists!!!! These Torments actually go along with the models above in a big unit. One of these can rip apart some Space Marines, so these actually give you some punch to the army.

New World Eaters Codex Officially Announced For Warhammer 40k

Games Workshop has confirmed that they have taken them out of the Chaos codex, meaning they will have a new set of miniatures with new Khorne Berzerkers, and they said a few surprises as well!

Khorne Berzerkers can’t go anywhere without their roaring chainaxes, and they’ll be using these heinous hatchets to chop their way through everything the 41st Millennium has to offer.

That’s not all – the codex will contain old favorites, dark legends, and some things that you’ve never seen before… We’ll be bringing you more updates on Codex: World Eaters and these murderous new miniatures over the next few months on Warhammer Community – so you can follow the Eightfold Path right up to release.

It looks like all the rumors we’ve seen about them getting their own book are true! This also means that Emperor’s Children has a big chance of getting their own codex book down the road!

Plastic Daemon Primarch Angron Confirmed by GW!

If things weren’t dire enough for the Imperium, what with the opening of the Great Rift and all the other threats from within and without, another Daemon Primarch has rejoined the battle for the fate of the galaxy – he might not look it, but he’s extremely happy to be back.

The Daemon Primarch of Khorne is a gigantic slab of warp-fuelled muscle. He’s been totally reforged into the image of his bloody master, flesh as red as the cascade of gore he leaves in his wake. 

He is quite the monstrosity! This will be huge based on the base size and the model itself; let’s just hope the rules represent his insane power and ferocity.

Yet take a closer look and you can still see the origins of this Daemon Prince. The Butcher’s Nails are still present, now fused into his very form. Likewise, scraps of his old Nucerian warplate still remain – like the shoulder pad that pays homage to his former Legion, even if the teeth are now somehow more… daemonic, a gaping maw almost literally eating worlds.

When you get close up on the details, they are quite awesome! As we said, this release is probably far off (perhaps even in 10th Edition) as they said we’ll learn more about it in the coming months. Now, let’s look at the leaked picture and what else could be coming with it.

More Khorne Leaks & Imperial Guard

It seems like there will be a slew of new miniatures, including new Khorne Berzerkers, the other half of the Kasrkin kit, and perhaps a new guard tank as well!

The very first comment on the Angron thread (especially now that it’s confirmed) also pretty much hit the nail on the head as well:

About 6 months before Wraith of Magnus dropped, one of the reliable rumor-mongers of the day (by the name of Hastings) reported seeing detailed design work for Magnus, Guilliman, Mortarion, Angron, and Russ. He was met with skepticism about the idea of Primarchs coming back to 40K until Magnus was released. He is now 3/5 and although Hastings has long since disappeared (or switched identities) I still give this rumor a lot of weight.

Berzerkers are 20-ish years old and in need of a revamp. Redoing World Eaters with Angron to lead them would certainly tick a lot of GW‘s boxes.

So from the image above, we can see a slew of new units, all of which will probably get revealed cheekily soon by Games Workshop making fun of the Photato image that they probably leaked in the first place…

Overall the model seems based on the art from the early 2000s and just really well done from the looks of it.

Regardless to us, at least, this already looks to be one of the best models Games Workshop has ever produced!

GW Reveals New Imperial Guard Kasrkin, Sentinel, & Creed Models!

As you know, communication across vast galactic distances is complex, and the work of faithless traitors can lead to pictorial intelligence of a substandard quality ending up in your dutiful hands. Fortunately, we stand ready to address this oversight – our astropaths have been able to broadcast glorious images of forthcoming Astra Militarum reinforcements.

Traitors? That’s a little harsh, but hey, it got GW to reveal the minis! Plus, the new models are looking pretty sweet!

If you ask us, there are more units than they showed off below in the picture. However, we’ll also speculate on those.

 

The new Lord Castellan deserves to command only the finest troops in battle – and who better than the renowned Kasrkin? These warriors are the elite of the elite, and they’re getting a stunning kit to match their fearsome reputation.

Clad in the finest carapace armour, these special forces have more skills than your standard Astra Militarum trooper, and are able to cut down their enemies with volleys from their hot-shot lasguns.

The New Imperial Guard Kasrkin models really take the look of the old ones and just up the ante! They are sleeker with better-looking weapons and just overall. If you ask us, that’s a pretty good upgrade.

Ursula Creed

Ursula Creed is the Lord Castellan of Cadia – and we dare any of you to tell her that she can’t hold the post simply because Abaddon destroyed that entire planet. Creed follows in her father’s footsteps – but while nepotism is alive and well in the 41st Millennium, this is no hereditary title. She’s earned that mantle like her father before her, and is every bit as ruthless, tactical, and unflinching.

 

Wait, could that be her father’s battered old greatcoat? But wasn’t he wearing that when Cadia fell?

This is a really cool addition to the line and the model has all kinds of throwbacks to Creed. However, we’re not so sure about the paint job on this one, mainly the face, but we’re sure it can be made to look cooler.

Sentinel

Finally, there’s an incredible new take on a classic kit – the Sentinel. These agile walker-vehicles are superb hunter-killers, and can be equipped with a variety of weaponry and wargear that enables them to deal with any foe – from blasting apart a tide of frenzied cultists to bringing down xenos monstrosities.

 

The new miniature can be assembled as an Armoured Sentinel or – if you prefer to feel the wind in your hair as you slay the enemies of the God-Emperor – a lightweight Scout Sentinel.

This is pretty sweet! While it keeps the feel of the old one, it really updates it to the new edition! Plus, if you look hard enough in the picture at the top, you can see the scout sentinel there!

New Imperial Weapon Teams & More Models SPOTTED!

Now, let’s see what else this picture could reveal!

In the middle are what appears to be new Cadian Shock Troopers who were rumored to be “more elite” now than regular guard.  However, they could just be the old models with the new upgrade sprue as well- it’s really hard to tell.

Also hard to tell, but probably new appears to be the five-man command squad pictured far right, as even the tassels do not match the current plastic kit from the mid-2000s.

 

The new Lord Commisar model is also visible in the middle from the previous rumors, and last but certainly not least are the new Imperial Guard Heavy Weapon Teams! Looking close you will notice the armored shields are missing, and the location of the ammo feeds is different from the current models pictured below:

Pretty cool to finally see some pictures and if we’re seeing them, it most likely means the release isn’t that far off.  Here’s all the latest on the upcoming rules updates and points changes for Warhammer 40k.

Chaos Daemons Codex Art & Details Revealed By GW!

There’s another ever-present threat lurking just behind the material veil. Gibbering, bloodthirsty legions of daemons claw at the walls of existence, taking advantage of any tear in realspace to manifest plagues and curses, tempt mortal souls, and slaughter untold millions. All it takes to invite devastation is one ill-considered ritual drawn from a blasphemous grimoire… speaking of which, Codex: Chaos Daemons is on the way.

As we said, there weren’t too many rumors floating around about when this would actually come out. Maybe that’s because it was basically next in line! Also, we’re not sure if many new minis will come with the book, but we expect at least one new character model.

RUMORS: Daemons Get Free Deepstrike 40k Rules

More rumors about some spicy new Deepstrike rules that Daemons may be getting in 9th Edition are coming in hot. These were spotted on Reddit recently from one of the various discords where they supposedly originated with edits for grammar.

A few keen-eyed individuals (most everyone) had noticed the “Warp Locus” keyword on certain CSM units (Master of Possession, Khorne Lord of Skulls). I’m here to tell you at least part of what it does. As you may have heard, you will be able to deepstrike Daemons for free–but that’s not all! When in the Warp, these daemons gain special deepstrike rules.

They can deepstrike as normal, or if you set them up wholly within 6″ of a Warp Locus unit, they can be set up just outside 6″ from enemy units! (Instead of 9″). If you have allegiances, you have to stick with your friends. Warp Locus isn’t a particularly common keyword but an important lynchpin to enable brutal strategies.

You are no longer shelling out 2 or 3 cp to get a guaranteed charge with Bloodletters. I mean, you will still be able to enhance charges in other ways, but now the floor is much higher. Looking to counter or stop your enemy from dropping hell on your doorstep? You’ll want to remove enemy Warp Locus models as efficiently as possible.

But that certainly won’t be simple in most cases. The cool news is that deepstriking via the Warp has some other interesting rules if you’re pure Daemons that make it even more appealing; those fighting daemons should generally stay out of daemonic territory and keep a good sense of leadership.

That’s it for that. A good mechanic to keep in mind as you read any upcoming information. I think it offers some good counterplay while enabling some of the most reliable changes in the game. PSA: As always, understand things can change before release. So salt it a bit. 

So it seems that there may be a high value placed on Warp Locus units both for army construction and target priority! However, anything that allows you to break basic rules of the game, like arriving within 6″, for example, is always worth more than a second look.

It’s also great to see an emphasis placed on closing the gap across the board for armies that rely on assault, first with Tyranids and now supposedly with Daemons. That bodes very well for the arrival of World Eaters in Warhammer 40k as a stand-alone faction, hopefully, sooner rather than later.

RUMORS: New 40k Chaos Daemons Skarbrand Rules

These rumors come from Reddit

As is appropriate for Skarbrand, his damage output has gone from “middling” to “through the roof”. His bellow has quite literally doubled in potency, and at the top profile, you get the choice between 9 attacks at S16 ap-4 D3+3 damage ignoring invulns or a whopping 18 at s8 ap-2 d2. His “rage embodied” also remains the same as ever, though the range has shortened a tad to only 6″.

The beast is no slouch durability-wise either – with 20 wounds, t8, and a 4+ save in both melee and shooting, he’s far from easy to take down, but if you’re still worried, just feel free to deep strike him – everyone in daemons can do that, remember?

Oh yeah, one other thing – he’s a Warp Locus.

Necromunda Roadmap

This toxic, rad-scoured landscape is too expansive to fit into a single book. In fact, the wastes are so vast we’re introducing them with a massive new boxed set, which will be followed soon after by a whole series of books exploring the factions that battle across the wastes. 

New Necromunda Agitator & Propagandist Revealed!

Whether they’re dedicated members of a faction or simply professional rabble-rousers, Propagandists can be found across Necromunda giving speeches, painting slogans on walls, and spreading favourable rumours. Not only are their boasts good for increasing your gang’s Reputation, but they help with recruitment too.

It is actually a really interesting and cool mini. This takes holding a boombox on your shoulder to a whole new level, nothing says join our gang and get to fighting like a triple tv screen and shoulder speakers.

He’s not on his own this time, though. They also mention he is a hanger-on who any gang, so pretty cool, can take.

Cults and criminals also need to yell about their achievements, which is where the Agitator comes in. Need to spread subversive rumours throughout the underhive? The Agitator is your man. Like his law-abiding cousin, he can help with your gang’s Reputation and recruitment. Be careful when the Enforcers come round, though – they’ll have one or two questions to ask about where he got that helmet from.

If you’re wondering which of these nefarious orators will best suit your gang, bear in mind, Propagandists are Hangers-on that can be taken by any gang, while Agitators can only join Outlaw gangs.

Nothing wrong with spreading about your accomplishments, in this case though, they probably aren’t true. They also mention these will be on pre-order soon from Forge World, just like all the individual releases like this.

Summer Skirmish Previews: New Necromunda Releases

 

The Goliath Mauler is the preferred light vehicle for the musclebound forge-masters of Necromunda. Trading speed and slick manoeuvrability for raw power and the ability to roll over difficult terrain – or other vehicles – the Mauler can thank its power ram and hybrid drive for getting the job done.

There is a new biker gang in the Ash Wastes, as the Goliaths are looking to tear it up in the dunes very soon!

There are also two builds GW showed (that we know of) that add a little bit to the variance of the kit.

Philosophically aligned with the Goliath’s “percussive maintenance” attitude to much of their equipment, the Mauler is a mean machine that can smash straight through the flimsier vehicles of other gangs.

With an inclination to ram and great traction, this bike will be a serious force to be reckoned with.

New Traitor Guard & Vanguard Space Marines (released on their own)!

Still not out yet separately are the Renegade Traitor Guard, and the Phobos Space Marines with upgrade sprue.

 

 

We’ve seen two of the minis before (Ogryn and Commissar), but the rest of the Guardsmen will be entirely new! They actually look really cool, and it looks like there will be plenty of amazing options inside.

They also say the kit will be super flexible, meaning you can make all kinds of options.

 

These are like the kit out there already, but the kit will come with one extra sprue. Just beware, this often raises the price of the kit,.

 

These seem to be some of the bits you’ll get in addition to the normal sprue.

Summer Skirmish Previews: New Warhammer 40k Kill Team Releases

First up there was an announcement for a brand new Warhammer 40k Kill Team boxset called “Into The Dark”.

Dare you brave the Gallowdark? This ancient space hulk is an amalgamation of countless ships from hundreds of civilisations. It drifts through the void, hopping in and out of the warp and realspace, and now it’s back. Factions from all over the galaxy are sending their boldest and best to plunder its innards – Welcome to Kill Team: Into the Dark.

This isn’t a new edition or anything like that, so feel free to continue all your normal warbands.  That being said, two new Kill Teams are coming in the set!

The Gallowdark is a legendary vessel, tracked by the Imperium for centuries. The Imperial Navy Breachers are among the first to board the hulk after its latest reappearance. Also known as Voidbreachers, these elite soldiers are trained to carry out hazardous boarding actions, with gear and weapons optimised for fighting in cramped quarters of enemy ships.

As highly trained and specialized units, expect the Imperial Navy Breachers to be a pretty elite force.

They aren’t the only space-faring Kill Team to have boarded the Gallowdark. A Kroot Kinband of expert trackers, sharpshooters, and guerrillas is also stalking through the hulk in search of glory, treasure, and fresh meat.

The Tau empire also has a stake in the boxset in the form of Kroot, who might just be more of a threat than we think.

As you would expect from the innards of a giant spaceship full of gloomy corridors, eerie flashing lights and inviting vents, the terrain you’ll be fighting over is a little different from previous Kill Team boxes. This set lets you create maze-like boards, full of narrow lines of sight and with sturdy doors to breach.

While we didn’t get a look at too much of the terrain, we do see a few bits and a sense of what the setting will look like!

Towards the end of the preview for Kill Team, they also showed this picture which features what looks to be a plastic floor! Long story short, they told us all to sit tight until they have more information about it soon!

Exclusive Primaris Company Champion

Warhammer Community announced the new models and some of the events you can get them at, such as AdeptiCon. Let’s check out the minis you can score in 2022!

For Warhammer 40,000 comes the sword-swinging Primaris Company Champion. These formidable warriors of the Adeptus Astartes defend their chapter’s honour on the battlefield, armed with a devastating master-crafted power sword and skills honed over countless duels.

The Primaris Company Champion even has an entirely new datasheet for use in Legends games of Warhammer 40,000, loaded with three deadly Blade Stances. You can also use him in other games, perhaps as a particularly cool squad leader, or even the Emperor’s Champion.

While this exclusive Space Marines Primaris company champion doesn’t have a set role in regular 40k games, it would make for a ton of really cool proxies, and since it’s a GW product, nobody can hassle you for it. It’s an interesting mini but not the wildest thing we’ve ever seen.

You’ll be able to acquire these miniatures at Warhammer events throughout 2022 – such as AdeptiCon, which is taking place from the 23rd to the 27th of March in Schaumburg, Illinois.

If you’re going to the event and want either, better to pick it up there instead of trying to fight for it on the secondary market.

Exclusive Swampcalla Shaman

For Warhammer Age of Sigmar, meet Mugruk Da Watcha! This Swampcalla Shaman believes he’s found a new way of observing the battlefield using a special seeing-eye rock, but it’s really nothing more than a neat hat.

Wearing a blindfold won’t keep this malodorous mage from getting stuck in with a bogbark staff and he’s brewing up a bevy of elixirs to empower the venom-tipped weapons of his fellow Kruleboyz. Mugruk isn’t accompanied by a pot grot, but he can still jab at foes with his own backup stabba.

Exclusive Inquisitor Erasmus Cartavolnus

You can grab the new exclusive Inquisitor and Gutrippa Boss minis this year at Games Workshop store anniversary events!

The Ordo Malleus is dedicated to hunting and exterminating daemons wherever they appear, and Erasmus Cartavolnus has been doing it for over 300 years. Despite his advanced age, this zealous Inquisitor still strides the battlefield in search of daemonic quarry, and his knowledge of binding rituals is second to none.

This is honestly pretty cool with the huge flame exploding from the book and giant sword. While the pose itself isn’t super dynamic, all the extra pieces of flair make up for it. We’ll have to see if they come up with any rules for him, but probably not.   Still, he would be a cool Inquisitor to add to your forces.

GW Exclusive Gutrippa Boss Haggok

It takes a wily creature to command the respect of a Kruleboyz Gutrippa mob, and Haggok is always on the lookout for his latest would-be usurper to pre-emptively run through. With a (mostly) tame vulture keeping its beady eyes open for incoming threats, Haggok has time to relax a little and survey the battlefield, leaning casually on his skareshield. He fits in perfectly with your existing Gutrippa warbands, and as a unit leader, he has a more refined air than your average Kruleboy can muster.

It’s nice at least this year to see something other than Necrons or Space Marines get the minis! He’s not the most exciting model, but still pretty cool. If for nothing other than the vulture! We also saw Gutrippa Boss Haggok long ago as he was hidden in plain sight and in a rumor engine (or two).

GW Previews New Miniatures Models for Warhammer+ Plus

A new year also means new subscriber-exclusive miniatures to come for year-long members. Did you catch them in the trailer? We’ll be showing them off in full later in the year. 

If you ask us, the first one is much easier to tell as a Chaos character of some kind. Just look at how furrowed and evil his brow looks! Judging by the armor, it also looks like a Terminator. The second model is a bigger body shot, but it could be many different factions. We assume it will be for AoS, and it really looks like the most likely candidate is Ossiarch Bonereapers. The armor looks like it could be something for them; they obviously love their quarterstaffs.

But that second shot of what we assume is its staff, is very Chaos looking…

First Set of  Minis for Warhammer+

First up is the Vindicare Assassin, this looks like a 3D render, but that is only half right. While it is a prototype 3d print it’s an amazing diorama model for what hobbyists will get down the road. They basically have a year to nail it down. Still, this is honestly pretty sweet!

Not sure what base size this will be on, but it will make a perfect centerpiece for you to really sink your teeth into and let your painting ambitions go crazy. This makes sense for a model as so many factions can use it, so any Imperial player can take advantage of it.

An Orruk takes the spot for AoS. The mini looks pretty sweet, but the one thing that’s hard to tell is how big it is. They said the skull on the back is an Ogors and the skull in its hand is a Stormcast. So this is just going to be giant! The Choppa itself is probably bigger than some minis out there. Again though, you won’t get this mini until you are subscribed for a full 12 months.

GW Releases Horus Heresy Road Map For 2022!

…and that’s just what’s coming in the next couple of seasons! That’s four faction books – one each for the Loyalist Legions, the Traitor Legions, the Mechanicum, and Imperial forces sworn to neither the Primarchs nor the Omnissiah.

These will all be supported by Legacies of the Age of Darkness, free downloadable PDFs which contain rules for old Forge World models that aren’t at present planned to return to the current range, so you can use your existing models in the new edition. And on top of that, two additional army lists will be available to download for other factions – the Daemons of the Ruinstorm, and the Imperialis Militia and Warp Cults.

If you look on the left, the three minis look to be the new Contemptor Dread (which could be the relic version), Space Marines, and a Rhino, all of which are in the rumors above. Then the Liber Mechanicum won’t hit until August, so the rumors were wrong there.

However, one important thing to note is the bottom right of the picture. As we said, there could easily be delays and changes, and GW is covering themselves this time. Welcome to 2022, we suppose.

Horus Heresy Starter Boxset Models (Separate Release)

 

Getting this bad boy in plastic is going to be super awesome!

 

What else could you possibly need? A tank? A transport? Why not both? The Spartan is bristling with lascannon arrays and can transport up to 26 Space Marines in power armour. This is the first time this mighty tank has been available in a plastic kit.

There are two big things to note first. We don’t know the prices of the individual kits 100%, so this is as close as we can get for now. Also, just to note, these are all going to be priced in plastic, with estimated pricing compared to the latest price increases.

• Mark VI Space Marines
• Contemptor Dreadnought 
• Characters 
• Spartan

This will be a great pickup if you want to get into the game.

Horus Heresy Special Weapons Packs

It looks like the rumored bits we saw are all coming true and in plastic!  These Weapon sets are still waiting on their release as well:

Prefer fire, melta, and plasma weapons? There’s an upgrade kit for you! It features 10 plasma cannons, 10 heavy flamers, and 10 multi-meltas.

Getting 10 of each is just so much better than worrying about what you’re arming each model with. Let’s just hope they are easy to magnetize.

 

Finally, there’s an upgrade kit with 10 volkite culverins, 10 lascannons, and 10 autocannons.

New Horus Heresy Plastic Leviathan Siege Dreadnought!

These massive Dreadnoughts were secretly developed on Terra in the latter days of the Great Crusade, away from the prying ocular lenses of the Mechanicum. And no wonder – you don’t want this kind of firepower getting into the hands of your rivals. Fortunately, the Emperor only issued the design to those he trusted. Y’know, like Horus.

Any kits we see going to plastic, we’re happy about.

This is the first time these walking heavy weapons platforms have been available in plastic, and the wait has been truly worth it. Sporting far heavier armour and even bigger guns than the already-intimidating Contemptor Dreadnought, the Leviathan truly lives up to its name.

If you can’t tell by looking at it, obviously, this is like the heavy version of the Contemptor with not only bigger guns, but plenty more armor as well, and we expect that to come in the way of more wounds and toughness.

This battlefield colossus will be here to tear up the battlefields of the 31st Millennium in terrifying style very shortly. You’ll also be able to get rules to use it in your games of Warhammer 40,000, for while Leviathans are rare in the 41st Millennium, some are still knocking around and making a proper nuisance of themselves…

While they don’t give an exact release date, getting a dual-use kit is always awesome. Especially if you’re spending hobby dollars, you want it usable for as many things as possible. Just be sure to magnetize this one so you can future-proof it!

GW Confirms Another New Contemptor Dreadnought Kit

As we said, this kit offers plenty of options (which might also come with an increased price tag). Here’s everything in the kit:

In addition to what its boxed-set cousin gets, this Contemptor packs four new main guns – a conversion beam cannon, a Kheres assault cannon, a volkite dual-culverin, and a gravis plasma cannon – and plenty of extra decorative options. That means, inside just one box, you get:

• One ultra-posable Contemptor Dreadnought chassis
• Two heads, one of which can equip an optional helical targeting array
• Four chestplate styles, with Loyalist and Traitor options
• Two big old punchy hands, buildable as fists* or chainfists
• Five different guns to go in those fists
• Eight different arm-mounted guns, usable on the right or left side
• A havoc missile launcher
• Fetching shield and scroll details to smarten up your chassis

However you want to dispose of your snivelling Loyalist/grotesque Traitor foes, this upgunned Contemptor Dreadnought has just what you’re looking for.

It’s always nice to get kits with more options! Plus, with how they have this pictured, maybe you can just buy these bits as an upgrade kit?

Horus Heresy Lucius

The Emperor’s Children are renowned for their pursuit of perfection, especially the arts of war, but one stands head and shoulders above the rest. That man is Lucius, known in the 31st Millennium as the Faultless Blade, and now he’s coming to etch his razor-sharp signature on the battlefields of the Horus Heresy.

This ambitious captain began to earn a name for himself in the latter years of the Great Crusade, gaining a reputation for excellence in personal combat, and for his arrogant, self-serving attitude. As his desire for perfection reached the point of obsession, Lucius fought solely for his own satisfaction, and he even came to welcome the Horus Heresy as an opportunity to test himself against the cream of other Legions.

It’s Lucius, the not-yet eternal! The model itself is really cool, while it’s not the most insane thing ever, it does really capture the feel of the lore and shows off what he’s all about. They also mention his dueling prowess, so hopefully, he’ll be able to cut down plenty of other characters! 

Marduk Sedras

Sedras is one of the Dreadwing – a corps dedicated to the total annihilation of enemies, cultures, and even planets with terrifying weaponry – and one of the oldest Space Marines alive. He is a veteran of the Unification Wars who fought in the presence of the Emperor Himself, and inspires excellence in all Dark Angels who march under his banner.

This is a really cool model lore-wise and you actually get to play with a model that fought in the presence of the Emperor! This is a pretty cool little addition to the line. On top of that, they mention he will be plastic, so that means even most characters and heroes will all be plastic!

Emperor’s Children Praetor 

Footsloggers aren’t getting left out though, and the First, Fourth, and Fifth Legions are rubbing their hands together in glee while they await their shiny new Mk VI upgrades. 

The Third, meanwhile, doesn’t consider the fine raiments that they have on the way are sufficient, however. The Emperor’s Children pursue excess in all things, and they bear that philosophy out in full with this fabulous new Praetor.

This might bode well for other legions as well. Considering we don’t just expect them to do a single one, and just like the upgrades, we might see these for a bunch of the legions. So while it might take a while, it would be cool! Read More Here.

New Aeronautica Imperialis Horus Heresy Rulebook Coming Soon

This new rulebook catapults your favourite Loyalist or Traitor Legion into swirling dogfights, bombing runs, and nail-biting air raids. Using the existing ruleset, it layers the Horus Heresy setting over Aeronautica Imperialis, making it the perfect complement to your games of Warhammer: Horus Heresy. 

If you already play AI and HH this is pretty cool, however, if you don’t already play AI, we’re not sure how many new people this will get into the game.

You could even run a campaign alongside your tabletop games, and why not get a couple of games of Adeptus Titanicus in to represent the towering Titan Legions above your Astartes, but far below your aircraft.

This book contains rules for all of the planes used by the Legiones Astartes, from the nimble Xiphon Interceptor to the hulking Thunderhawk Gunship. You’ll also find rules for the Divisio Aeronautica, which fields Thunderbolts and Marauders, and even the deadly golden Ares Gunship favoured by the Adeptus Custodes.

As we said above, it would be cool to do a giant campaign with multiple games added in and really feel like a full campaign.

There are unique upgrades for all 18 Legions, giving them a diverse feel as they lock horns. Lavish artwork covers the marking and heraldry of these mighty aircraft, including many of each Legions’ most deadly and revered squadrons.

They didn’t give a release date, but we expect it to hit shelves quite soon!

The Ares Gunship for AI

The Ares Gunship is a remarkable fighter craft from a distant age, a terror weapon that developed its infamous reputation during the Unification Wars on Ancient Terra. When the Legio Custodes marched out to fight by the Emperor’s side, the Ares would blaze over enemy lines to utterly destroy landmarks, monuments, and other cultural symbols of any who resisted the Emperor’s peace.

Since then, the Ares Gunship has become the premier aerial runabout of the Adeptus Custodes – and it has the in-game performance to match. Five Structure points make it the toughest Fighter in the game, and it can hover and drop Infernus bombs to boot. The Gunship’s array of weapons – its signature nose-mounted Arachnus magna-blaze cannon, and a pair of heavy blaze cannons – mean it’s absolutely devastating at Medium range. 

This thing is an absolute menace in the skies – and at a cost of 43 points per craft, that’s exactly what you’d expect.

New Blood Bowl Releases

Kitted out in fabulous teal and saffron livery, the Kara Temple Harpies are organised into distinct positions inspired by their martial culture. Teams field Piranha Warrior Blitzers, Python Warrior Throwers, Jaguar Warrior Blockers, and Eagle Warrior Linewomen.

Like the Mayan inspiration or not, those wolverine claws will jack you up! (and any opposing Blood Bowl players too)

Amazon teams are as ferocious on the pitch as they are defending their hidden homelands from marauding foes – and they’ll soon be ready for primetime matches in the world of Blood Bowl.

 

Blood Bowl Estelle

Hailing from deep within the jungles of Lustria, Estelle is an eccentric individual who’s decided – for reasons known only to her and her amphibian associates – that the best way to protect her home is to rise to Blood Bowl stardom. It would be just another amusing footnote in the history of the gridiron… if she wasn’t so outstandingly effective on the pitch.

Her skills include Disturbing Presence and Guard, which combined with an amazonian level of agility, make her a great supporting player, and that’s before adding her stranger powers into the mix. Using esoteric lore from deep within the swamps, Estelle can place a Baleful Hex on an opposing player at a critical moment, potentially removing them from the game for a turn.

New Underworlds Releases

This mirthless band of Witch Hunters is led by Haskel Hexbane, who has been commanded by the clandestine Order of Azyr to bring the cleansing fires of justice to the abyssal heart of the Nethermaze.

The group of hunters would get little work done without their two trusty hounds! Or at least it’s fun to imagine so.

With a great variety united by a clear theme, Underworlds Warbands are great hobby experiences if you like what the group offers.

As with every Warhammer Underworlds warband, these grim crusaders come with a complete Rivals deck that you can use out of the box, or combine with other cards – such as the universal cards also included with the warband – to construct your own devious decks.

Speaking of what they offer, we also got these two cards to look at as far as rules go.

It’s so awesome to finally see Orks getting their time in the sun with JOYTOY! Hopefully, at some point, we’ll see other Xenos join the line.

 

3 new Kommandos are also coming, but since we haven’t seen these in the stores yet, we’re not really sure about the price point for the Orks.

Their dread minis are always awesome and Bjorn is no different! It’s a little strange in a way they picked this, but hey, we’re not complaining!

New 40k JOYTOY Thunderwolf Cavalry Spotted!

These are quite giant and if you play Space Wolves, you pretty much have to get at least one!

 

We actually heard rumors about these coming out along with a ton of other figures, so seeing these makes those seem much more plausible!

 

The wolves and riders both look great and we expect the wolves to have decent articulation.

It looks like there will most likely just be these two variations.

As we said, just like with the outriders, you can pose and use the rider on its own if you wanted to.

As you can see, these are huge!

New McFarlane Darktide 40k Action Figures First Look!

McFarlane Toys just dropped their summer showcase, and the new Warhammer 40k Dark Tide action figures were center stage!

Starting with the traitor side of things, this figure is pretty awesome! It looks like he’ll be outnumbered to start, as he has to beat a guardsman and an Ogryn!

The Cadian is pretty cool with a giant chainsword!

Probably our favorite fig of the group, and from what they were saying, it will be a megafig. While it will be a little more expensive, but still way cheaper than any of the competition.

Plus, if you throw this guy down on the table to watch over your games, how can your small Ogryns not be motivated to smash through the enemy! Again, they said should be hitting pre-order soon, but we hope that means like next week!
