GW’s Most Wanted Starter Set Miniatures For 2020

primaris space marine walWill these models make their debut in 2020? Since AoS 2.0 and 40k 8th edition, we’re still waiting to see certain heroes and characters get their own kits.

We’ve got a pretty good idea at what’s ahead for the holidays and as far as that goes, we aren’t going to be getting random character kits from past releases. Moving into 2020, we’re hoping we start seeing some Starter Set-exclusive characters pop up for individual sale. Check out these top character models we’re still waiting on!

Captain in Gravis Armor & Primaris Ancient

40KDarkImperium

primaris gravis patreon

The Captain in Gravis Armor was first introduced into the Dark Imperium Box Set at the beginning of 8th Edition. Beyond multiple Lieutenants, Phobos, and other Primaris units, he’s still not anywhere to be found. GW even passed up the opportunity to throw him in a Start Collecting by using the Primaris half of the Shadowspear Box Set as a repackage.

Ultramarines Ancient 8th

The same goes for the Primaris Ancient model. This guy was also first seen in the Dark Imperium Box Set from the start of 8th Edition. Since the latest Space Marine support wave, this guy has an awesome relic option available as well giving a 9″ fearless aura that’s seeing competitive play. The demand may be growing for this guy shortly and he’s still nowhere to be found.

Noxious Blightbringer & Lord of Contagion

Death Guard Lord of Contagion

For the Death Guard side of things, the Noxious Blightbringer and Lord of Contagion are two units that we’re still waiting to see as well. Throughout 8th edition’s longevity, we’ve seen release after release including a handful of characters. However, these guys are still nowhere to be seen.

Space Wolf Battle Leader

Tooth & Claw

Originally spotted in the Tooth and Claw Box Set, the Space Wolves Battle Leader is one of the models that we have access to in a Start Collecting set. However, he’s not being sold individually anywhere else yet.

Primaris Lieutenant in Phobos Armor

Shadowspear

Shadowspear

We’ve gotten a Primaris Lieutenant in Phobos armor beyond the Shadowspear Box Set release. However, it’s not this exact model. Maybe we’ll be seeing this guy again eventually, but most likely you will have to get him in the new Primaris Start collecting only.

Sylvaneth Arch Revenant & Loonboss on Squig

Looncurse

Looncurse

Looncurse

These two guys first made an appearance in the Looncurse Box Set right before they got Battletome support. With that said, now that we’re well into the year, these guys have still yet to come out in their own clam pack. GW passed up the opportunity to bring the Loonboss in with the Holiday Battleforce as well.

Ogor Tyrant and Vokmortian, Master of the Bone Tithe

Feast of Bones

Ogor ogre kingdoms tyrant Age of Sigmar

Ossiarch Bonereapers vokmortian

With the Dark Imperium characters being three years old (by next Summer) and still having no individual kit to be found, it may take a while for the Ogor Tyrant and Vokmortian from Feast of Bones to hit the shelves as they’re in the back of the line.

Looking back, GW still has a lot of open-ended releases to go back and finish. Do you think we will see these characters hit stores with individual kits in 2020?

Did we forget any characters that you would like to see the most?
