port scry horus heresyThis one is pretty straight forward. Horus Heresy’s book nine was just spotted hitting US ports. However, one thing that really stands out here is that the book isn’t labeled as “Hardback”. It’s also worth noting that we still haven’t seen any picture of the book yet, which leaves the possibility open for it actually being a softback release.

However there may be a clue here, let’s take a look.

The overall weight of the shipment is 4,462 lbs. Now let’s break it all down to the weight per book. 4,462 divided by 133 cases comes out to 34lbs/case. Take the weight of the case and divide it by the number of books inside (8) and you get 4.25 lbs/per book. Keep in mind the 40k rulebook is 2 pounds 11 oz, so with such a heavy weight like that, it does makes us believe that it’ll still be a hardcover book that drops.

On the flip side, if we break down the details we could see at the time of port scrying, we have a better idea of what we’re getting. So for the math, we’ve got 133 cases with 8 copies per case. That means a total of only 1064 books that just hit US ports.

You might want to pre-order one as soon as GW starts taking orders again. Especially if you’re a Dark Angel/Night Lords fan.

From WHC: That’s not all! Along with the book, 2020 will see some amazing new models released that tie in with the Thramas conflict – all of which we’ll take a look at in due time.

As far as everything else goes, we’re probably not done seeing previews of what will be in the book altogether. We still haven’t had any light shed on what the Night Lords will be getting in the book. But the key takeaway is that relatively speaking, there’s a very limited number of books that just rolled in.

With the book now making its way into the US ports, when do you think we’ll be seeing them hit the shelves? Do you think it’s such a small shipment number because 30k is technically a Specialist Game and the book only pertains mainly to two factions?
