GW moved a ton of Horus Heresy models to Legends for 10th Edition Warhammer 40k, and here are their free Index Cards rules downloads!
A while ago, GW released a list of the Horus Heresy models that will be moving to Legends for 40k. This got people a little up in arms, as at the end of 9th some people bought them specifically to play in 40k. Either way, they will still have rules but they will not be tournament legal. So, if you have the models, you can still use them for 40k in friendly games.
GW won’t keep up with them much, so these rules might be what you have to use for the rest of the edition. However, there are no rules included for Adeptus Custodes and Knight Households in there, and GW says they will come out in the upcoming Imperial Compendium.

The latest on Horus Heresy Legends Models free 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Index Cards rules downloads comes from Warhammer Community.
As with other Warhammer Legends units, these venerable vehicles are still usable in matched play and Crusade games of Warhammer 40,000, but they are not recommended for use in a competitive tournament setting.
As we said, you can still use these in home games, just not tournaments. So, if you love the models, you can use them with your friends, etc. If you don’t remember everything that was moved to Legends, here’s the list:
- Leviathan, Contemptor, and Deredeo Dreadnoughts
- Kratos, Sicaran, Spartan, Cerberus, and Typhon Tanks
- Certain variants of the Land Raider, the Vindicator, and the Whirlwind
- Xiphon Interceptors, Fire Raptors, Storm Eagles, and Storm Birds
- Legion Support Weapons
- Fellblades, Falcions, Mastodons
- Javelins, Dreadnoughts and Deathstorm Drop Pods
- Secutarii Hoplites and Peltasts, and Terrax-pattern Termites
- Decimators, Greater Blight Drones, Blood Slaughterers, Greater Brass Scorpions, Kytan Ravagers, the Kharybdis Assault Claw, and the Dreadclaw Drop Pod
Imperial Armour Units, That are also in the Horus Heresy
(for use in matched and narrative play, including competitive events)
- Adeptus Custodes units
- Imperial Knights
Space Marines Rules Free Horus Heresy Legends Index Cards Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules
The Space Marines get the most units moving to Legends, with 60 pages worth. So, if you have any of the HH models, they are probably included. Considering there are so many rules, we’re not going to cover all of them, but if you want to download all of them, you can here!
Heretic Astartes Free Horus Heresy Legends Index Cards Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules
These are all going to be really strong as they all get Dark Pact, but we’ll have to get them on the tabletop and see!
They also don’t have all the rules for Sicarns, Leviathans, and such, but we assume you can change the keywords around as they previously mentioned.

Adeptus Mechanicus Free Horus Heresy Legends Index Cards Downloads: 10th Edition 40k Rules
Adeptus Mechanicus er Mechanicum has the smallest legends list, with only six pages. Still, if you have any of the units, you want to know what they can do. You can download all those rules here!
Overall, it will be sad not to see these models in a competitive setting, but it may be better to see Games Workshop making sustainable changes regardless of what players want.
