New Aquilon Terminators just showed up in GW’s new Warhammer Academy video, and they look headed for a plastic 40k and Horus Heresy release.
The best part of this leak is that GW said in their Q&A that plastic Custodes aren’t going to Legends in 11th Edition, so plastic Aquilon Terminators should be legal for years to come. So if you wanted Aquilons in your army, you’re probably buying these new models, and maybe even the new support battle group box as well.
While nothing is official from Games Workshop yet, it’s not much of a surprise that these are similar to the Aquilon Terminators they quietly removed from the webstore, right alongside the other kits in the batch of removals we covered.
The rest of the Custodes range has already been moving from resin to plastic, with kits branded for both Horus Heresy and 40k, so the Aquilons were always likely to be next.
The Resin Kit Vanished, Then Showed Up In GW’s Own Video

- The evidence: They match the size and weapons of the current plastic Custodes Terminators, although the helmeted heads from the old Forge World kit appear to be missing.
- What it means: With plastic Custodes staying out of Legends in 11th Edition, the new kit will likely be the only way to keep fielding Aquilons.
This wasn’t exactly hard to see coming, honestly. When a Forge World kit disappears from the store, it often means GW is making room for a plastic replacement. That’s been the pattern across the Custodes range since Telemons started showing up in plastic.
In the video, the Aquilons look about the same size as the current plastic Custodes Terminators and carry the same distinctive weapons as the original resin kit, and while not official, nothing about them suggests this is a different unit.
Forge World Resin Aquilon Terminators
The main change appears to be the heads. The footage doesn’t seem to show the helmeted options included with the old Forge World kit, which came with both bare and helmeted heads. GW may have cut them from the sprue, or the video may simply not show everything.
The first option seems more likely, but that’s still a guess until the full reveal, which is bound to happen soon!
Final Thoughts on the Aquilon Terminators Going Plastic
GW hasn’t announced a price, release date, or official reveal yet. Still, the webstore removal, the Warhammer Academy footage, and the no-Legends confirmation all point the same way. These look set to arrive in another Custodes release covering both Horus Heresy and 40k, just like the rest of the range.
