Here’s the latest Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. As usual, there are some interesting possibilities for what it could be! Whatever the case, we can’t wait to see what Games Workshop has in store when it’s finally revealed.

New Warhammer Rumor Engine Preview: May 12th, 2026
This new Warhammer rumor engine looks like the back of a weapon with an old-fashioned crossbow trigger, meaning it most likely fits in Age of Sigmar or the Old World.
Naturally, low tech can exist in 40k too, and our favorite hipster inquisitors often have super unique weapons, but our bet is on humans or dwarves in the fantasy settings.
As we can see on the most recent Inquisitor, the weapon he’s holding is far from a standard rifle. The question is, would GW go so far as to give a 40k model a basic looking crossbow!?
We don’t think so, but it sure would make for a wild new miniature! Expect a new flamer or crossbow wielder in fantasy game systems.
