New Ork Nobz and Warbikes join the latest Orks model wave, landing right after the Warboss, Trukk, and Boyz reveals.
The Codex: Orks rollout keeps coughing up new models, and the Nobz and Warbikes are the two a lot of Ork players have been waiting to see. Anyone playing Orks has already seen the Warboss, Trukk, and Boyz, and now we’re finally getting into more of the actual mob. GW revealed both kits together on Warhammer Community, with both tied into the run-up to Codex: Orks, 11th Edition’s first drop.
The release order is interesting here. GW is getting the loud, fast stuff out first while the heavier elite kit waits a bit longer, which fits how the 11th Edition release schedule has been rolling factions out this year.
That makes the Nobz timing worth a double-take because earlier rumors about new Nobz had them connected to a Kill Team release instead of the opening Codex wave, and this reveal doesn’t really shut that idea down either.
- Nobz kit: five Nobz with kustom krumpas, plus three Grots hauling spare guns and ammo.
- Warbikes: the classic Speed Freek unit gets dual dakkaguns, while the Biker Nob brings rokkits.
- Pre-order cadence: the Warbikers arrive with Codex: Orks, while the Nobz show up a little later.
The New Ork Nobz Kit Finally Gives the Veterans Their Gubbinz
The Nobz are the kit we really wanted a closer look at. These are the Orks who’ve survived enough scraps to get bigger, meaner, and considerably bossier than the Boyz around them.
The box builds five Nobz with kustom krumpas, the single melee profile GW is using to cover powered blades, klaws, and bludgeons. There’s also a big skorcha in the kit, because apparently the Nobz needed another way to make standing nearby a bad idea.
Three Grots trail along behind them carrying spare guns and ammunition, which is exactly the sort of little detail that makes any Ork unit feel just right. The bigger draw is customization though, as this looks like a kit meant to be chopped up, swapped around, and “kustomised”. Which is exactly what the Orks crowd learning how to play the army tends to want from a Nobz box.
The new kit includes:
- Five Nobz: armed with kustom krumpas covering powered blades, klaws, and bludgeons, with specialist gear available if you want to load them up.
- A big skorcha: the standout wargear option in the box for some close-range burning.
- Three Grots: following the Nobz around with the spare guns and ammunition.
Kill Team or Not a Kill Team?
Then there’s the Kill Team rumor angle too. Earlier talk had the new Nobz tied more closely to Kill Team than the front end of the Codex: Orks wave, and the staggered release doesn’t exactly hurt that theory.
With GW saying the Warbikers arrive with the Codex while the Nobz come later, so there is still room for something else to be going on with this new chunky elite kit.
It’s still rumor territory though, but the timing gives us a reason to keep an eye out.
The Warbikes Bring Rokkits and a Wall of Dakka
We saw them before, but the new Warbikes are pretty much pure Speed Freek nonsense, which is exactly what they should be, honestly. They’re fast, loud, and absolutely covered in dakka.
Each model features the following:
- Dual dakkaguns: a pair on every bike, firing in bursts wild enough to shove the bike backwards.
- Biker Nob rokkits: strapped onto his guns for some drive-by tank-busting.
- Choppas: ready for when the Warbikers plow into combat and hit harder off the speed of the charge.
Plus, the Biker Nob gets rokkits strapped onto his guns as well, giving him some drive-by tank-busting before the unit gets stuck in. They’re still Orks once the shooting stops, so the Warbikers can pile into combat and start swinging choppas that hit harder off the speed of the charge.
Either way, these fast Warbikers we saw teased earlier finally have a proper kit behind them.
Final Thoughts on the New Ork Nobz and Warbikes
We’ve got the plastic, but we don’t have the numbers yet, and that’s what will tell us whether either kit actually has teef on the tabletop. GW says the Codex: Orks datasheets arrive later this week, so we’ll soon know whether the Nobz can work as a proper melee anchor and whether the Warbikes have enough punch to make all that speed worthwhile.
The split release puts the Warbikers alongside the Codex while the Nobz arrive later, and that later Nobz date keeps the Kill Team rumor question hanging around, at least for now.
