That leaked Warhammer 40k codex schedule is “real”, and we have the receipts showing where those supposed Reddit predictions actually started.
Warhammer leaks need a source, and that codex schedule going around online? Well, it came from our clearly labeled predictions, not some secret insider.
The “leaked” screenshot is our 11th Edition codex release schedule predictions table, with all the labels stripped out, getting passed around as a “rumored” release schedule on the r/BloodAngels thread. And the source for that Reddit post is a local friend who supposedly gets codexes early. Which, of course, is completely false and just the machinations of this week’s wannabe insider, clout-chasing internet grifter on Reddit.
Either way, we’ve covered Warhammer 40k rumors long enough to see what really happened here. Somebody grabs a prediction, the context gets lost, and suddenly there’s a whole insider story attached to it. Eventually, when the Scooby-Doo mask comes off, we get blamed for saying something we never said.
Welcome to the 40k content creator clown show.
We Called Them Predictions, So Why Are People Treating Them Like Leaks?
- What’s happening: A cropped screenshot of our codex forecast is circulating on Reddit as an insider release schedule, with a source story we never told.
- What we have seen so far: The image drops our disclaimer plus the confidence and notes columns, and the post never credits Spikey Bits, even though our site (ad and all) is right there in the screenshot.
- What’s next: The schedule stays a forecast until GW says otherwise, and anyone who wants to argue with it should argue with the version we actually wrote.
Here’s the thing. Our 11th Edition 40k Codex Roadmap article calls these rumors and predictions right from the start. We say the dates aren’t official, and every entry has a confidence rating and a note explaining our thinking. Don’t agree with our guesses? That’s fine, lol, because half the fun of trying to figure out release patterns is arguing about them anyway.
An actual screenshot from our article with all the info.
Look at the screenshot being shared versus our actual Codex Roadmap schedule predictions. Those confidence ratings and notes? They’re gone, and that’s a pretty big deal, because they tell you which dates are based on rumors and which are simply our best guesses. Same dates, but a completely different impression, all because someone wanted to be an attention-seeker on Reddit.
And yeah, this part is a little annoying. You can actually see our website in the screenshot, ad and all, but the Reddit post never names Spikey Bits or links back to us. So people got the table without the information that explained what they were looking at, which is pretty disappointing. The OP’s take was basically, “Really hoping this is true.”
For the record, thier friend wasn’t our source, and we didn’t claim to have somebody on the inside, either.
Don’t Like Our Codex Predictions? Let’s Hear Why
If you think we’ve packed too many codexes into the schedule, or that the factions are coming in a different order? Tell us why! Let’s hear your reasoning, because that’s half the fun of making predictions in the first place.
One complaint we kept seeing was that GW would have to release two codexes in the same month for this even to be semi-legitimate, which people claimed they never do.
Except Games Workshop literally just did that. Both Adeptus Custodes and Space Marines codex books had October 2026 street dates, so we’re not guessing about something that’s never happened. Plus, this isn’t just a one-off case either; it happens much more often than people notice.
That’s because in some cases GW does 40k releases around the third week of the month, but sometimes there are five weeks in a month, so there’ll be a natural overlap of sorts. Plus, sometimes they just bang them out, as we saw with AdMech and Necrons in 2023, literally together in the same week.
And these predictions aren’t just about picking factions out of a hat either; there is a lot of nuance too. That’s because GW rarely releases codexes during the last six months of an edition cycle, usually shifting over to campaign books instead. We saw that with the 500 Worlds campaign and Titus coming back in early 2026, then the Eye of Terror and eventually the Armageddon supplement, with the return of Yarrick.
We also spent a lot of time going back through release schedules all the way to 7th edition, looking at how GW tends to arrange factions each year, especially based on which armies appear in the starter set.
We put tons of time and research into our article
So yeah, disagree with our schedule all you want. That’s what predictions are for, but acting like we tried to pass these off as confirmed release dates? Come on, we never said that. The early T’au, Drukhari, and Tyranid discussion comes from rumors already making the rounds, and we make that clear. Everything else is marked as our own guesses, backed by the release patterns we’ve been looking at.
And even if every single date turns out to be right, that doesn’t suddenly mean we had inside information; sometimes a good guess is just a good guess. We’d rather people judge what we actually wrote than some insider claim somebody else attached to it.
Final Thoughts on Warhammer Leaks That Started as Our Predictions
We’re obviously responsible for what we publish, and we’ve labeled our predictions, explained the reasoning behind the entries, and keep updating the page whenever GW confirms something or throws our guesses out the window.
But we can’t take responsibility for an insider story somebody else added after grabbing our table. If you’re going to repost it, at least keep the labels, and if you’re going to call it fake, at least click through and read what we actually said first.
Seems pretty reasonable, right?

What do you think about Warhammer leaks that turn out to be somebody’s labeled predictions?

As far as Guard goes, either they’re coming after Marines settle next year as you predict, in which case the Steel Legion release in 2028 is going to be just a single infantry box/Kill Team release, or the Guard codex will land with a Steel Legion army box in 2029.
