Is It Worth It?
Compared to the newer boxes, this actually has subpar value! When they first started making the boxes, they generally had a value of $70, and this value dropped significantly from that.
It basically gives you the Bladeguard Veterans for free. So, if you’re starting an army and need everything in the box, it is cheaper than buying it all on its own. We would just hope for a little more value overall.
Either way, this is a decent way to get some minis to paint and throw down on the table.

What to Buy Next?
Well, considering you’re playing Black Templars to Crusade, you want more Crusaders and some Sword Brethren to help dominate the battlefield. Once you get some more ground troops on the table, you’ll definitely want to grab some Dreadnoughts and vehicles to pack some extra punch and knock the enemies off of their objectives.
While walking across the battlefield is cool (not really), you need some Space Marines transports as well! Don’t let your poor troops meander around to be shot, so that’s a big priority.
There is also something to be said about just buying the minis you think are cool and building a Black Templars army around them!

The Out of Print (OOP) 2021 Black Templars Combat Patrol box was the Emperor’s little gift to new players. Released on November 13th, 2021, this set was packed to the brim with 17 models.
The box had a lot of new miniatures from that wave of releases, and honestly, felt like a good buy for most Black Templar players.
At a $168 price tag and an MSRP value of $253, it gave you about $85.50 in savings, assuming you actually needed everything in the box.
