GW’s Warhammer Miniature of the Month promotion is back. Here is how you can score a free mini alongside the latest Citadel coin in March 2026.
That’s right, it’s back again, and it’s FREE! Each month, Games Workshop offers a free Warhammer Miniature of the Month promo at their stores based on the latest faction release, along with a promo coin (this time, there are actually two coins you can grab).
It’s a fantastic way to try out new painting techniques or start a new faction without breaking the bank.
Here are all the details on the latest Warhammer free mini, and a few more promos in March from Games Workshop.
Free Miniature of the Month Warhammer Promo: March 2026

- March 2026 free mini is a Darkoath Marauder: grab it at a GW Warhammer store while supplies last
- $100 spend gets the coins: if it’s in stock, the Black Library Celebration coin or Shyish coin should be yours with a $100+ purchase, simple as that.
- Weird change: GW says you must ask each store when the mini and coin are available, so timing may vary location to location.
- Overseas assembly rule: in Australia, Europe, New Zealand, and the UK, you’ll need to assemble the free mini in-store.
- More freebies and side quests: bring-a-friend gets a free Stormcast or Infernus Marine, plus the Million Miniatures Challenge is running now.
Starting March 7th, 2026, the free miniature of the month Warhammer stores have waiting for you is a Darkoath Marauder model.
Why You Should Grab It:
Pulled from the countless warbands prowling the Mortal Realms beyond the last “civilized” wall, the Darkoath are hard-as-nails fighters who sign on with the Chaos Gods in whatever flavor of bad idea suits them.
And yeah, the Darkoath are still pretty new to AoS, which makes snagging a mini for free a smart move. It is an easy, low-commitment way to see if you actually want them in your army, and whether you enjoy painting all that grim, rugged chaos swagger.
Keep in mind that we never really know whether the Warhammer store will open a unit box for the free model or if you’ll get a complete miniature on its own sprue.
GW’s Collectible Coin Promo For March
This Realm of Shyish coin will be available starting in March. And like the mini, they are available from March 7th. So, if you’re there for the Warhammer miniature of the month or for the coin, as long as you’re spending $100, you should be able to grab both.
Black Library Coin
March is also a double-coin month, with the Black Library coin available for pickup on March 28th. So, if you want both coins, you might have to be willing to drop at least $200 on Warhammer this month.
How Score Your Miniature of the Month & Coin
The Citadel collectible coin promo and free Warhammer miniature of the month are available while supplies last, at your local Games Workshop Warhammer store. Which means you might be able to get a coin and the free mini on an all-in-one trip, which is cool.
Either way, all you have to do is visit the store, and if it’s in stock, the coin should be yours when you spend $100 or more, no matter how you slice it.
Latest Changes for the Promo
In February, they made you go in and ask a manager when the coin was available, this time they actually gave the dates out in the post again. So, luckily for you, now you know exactly when to go into the store.
Don’t forget that the rules for this promo overseas changed, too. If you get your mini in Australia, Europe, New Zealand, or the UK, you will need to assemble it in-store, and they are limited to one per customer.
We’re honestly not sure why the change occurred, but if you’re in any of those countries, you can’t just walk out the door with it like here in the States…
More Free Warhammer Miniature of the Month Style Offers
In addition to their Warhammer Miniature of the Month promo, Games Workshop also has a model to score if you bring a friend with you to a corporate store!
So again, if you are visiting a Warhammer store to score the collectible coin or a Miniature of the Month, it could be a great chance to introduce your friends and family to the amazing world of Warhammer.
They can choose either a free Stormcast Eternal or an Infernus Marine push-fit miniature, and start learning how to paint it right there at the store!
Million Miniatures Challenge
Games Workshop is also running two new hobby promos in 2026, alongside the Warhammer Miniature of the Month; the Million Miniatures Challenge (pledge to paint 25, 50, or 100 minis between January 17th, 2026, and May 9th) and a referral side-quest called Call to Arms (starting January three, 2026) that rewards you for bringing new players into a Warhammer store.
If you do have a store nearby, pick a pledge you can realistically finish, keep your tracking card updated, and show up early because “while supplies last” usually means “blink and it’s gone.”
Warhammer Free Mini Promo For Lt. Titus
You can’t get this one at a Games Workshop store, but you can score a free LT. Titus Miniature with the new Warhammer 40k Character Encyclopedia that is on sale right now over on Amazon.

Sure, the Darkoath grabbed a lot of new minis in 4th Edition, but getting one as the free Warhammer Miniature of the Month is always a fun bonus. Might as well get a free mini to mess around with paint schemes for a brand-new tribe.
And honestly, even if Darkoath isn’t your thing, who’s ever complained about a free miniature landing on their desk?
