Is the Grey Knights Combat Patrol Worth It?
Compared to the newer Combat Patrols, this one lands on the lower end of the value pile, and the lineup just is not doing it. The whole thing feels like GW sweeping the warehouse floor and calling it a “new” box, especially with how old-school some of these kits look. If Grey Knights are getting anything truly fresh, it sure looks like we’re waiting for 11th Edition to deliver the goods.
That said, it’s not a total miss for newcomers. As a starter force, it works, it plays right out of the box, and you do save money versus buying everything separately. It’s weird, it’s not flashy, but it still beats a few of the recent bundles where the “deal” barely exists.
What Can You Play Out of the Box? (Combat Patrol Rules vs 40k Points)
Combat Patrol is its own little bubble, so points are not the headline. But if you’re tossing this Grey Knights box into a regular 40k game, you’re looking at roughly around 650 points based on the current lineup, with the usual points will change frequently.
What to Buy Next After the Grey Knights Combat Patrol

Then add a couple of Nemesis Dreadknights to give you real punch, especially with the new upgrade sprue in the mix. That combo gets you more bodies for scoring and a proper hammer unit without reinventing the whole list.
OOP 2022 Combat Patrol Contents and Value Comparison:
The old out-of-print Grey Knights Combat Patrol is the one people still drag into every comment war, mostly because they have had two subpar Combat Patrols back to back. Here’s the quick contents and value comparison so you can judge it on the numbers, not the nostalgia.
| Models | Unit Name | Value |
| 5 | Terminator Squad | $60 |
| 5 | Grey Knights Strike Squad | $40 ($65 for 10) |
| 1 | Nemesis Dreadknights | $70 |
| 1 | Librarian In Terminator Armour | $35 |

| Total MSRP: | $205 | |

Final Verdict on the Grey Knights Combat Patrol
From Daemon-slaying heavy hitters to an old-school dreadnought, this box is definitely interesting. It’s got value, it’s got attitude, and despite the memes on it, it might just be worth it for new players. Or… it could just be GW clearing out some backstock before 11th Edition gets here, hard to say. But, if you are just starting an army, not a bad deal.
