GW dropped a surprise Horus Heresy pre-order release on retailers’ laps for Christmas, featuring the Siege Assault Battle Group, the first miniatures kit of 2026.
Games Workshop’s December 27th pre-orders featuring the Horus Heresy Siege Assault Battle Group were a surprise to pretty much everyone. GW is already asking stores to submit their pre-order numbers (over a month before) for the actual release.
If you want this box, tell your LGS now! They have to put in their numbers and pay ahead of time, so be sure to reserve your box now, even though it won’t hit shelves until 2026.

The Siege Assault Battle Group made its big debut at the World Championships preview, and it is stuffed with fresh plastic goodness.
If you want the new Terminators or Breachers, this is your one-stop shop until GW feels like selling them solo. The box came in about five bucks higher than we guessed, but it is still packed with value and loaded with shiny new toys to build and brag about.

Final Thoughts on Siege Assault Group Pre-Order
For a surprise end-of-year drop, the Siege Assault Battle Group hits pretty hard. If you want one, lock it in with your LGS now, since stores are being asked to commit early and these boxes will vanish fast.
All in all, it is a spicy start to the new year, and the box itself is a solid win for Heresy players hunting for fresh plastic like the Breachers.
