Ogre Mawtribes army set pre-order

Games Workshop’s Sunday Preview revealed the new Age of Sigmar Ogor Mawtribes Army Set, which goes up for pre-order this Saturday.

GW showed off the full week’s releases in its Sunday Preview, and the slow drip of Ogor Mawtribes teasers has only begun! The faction’s new range starts with an Army Set packed with brand-new plastic.

If you’ve been watching the new Ogors roll out and wondering where to start, this is the box for you. It includes the first batch of refreshed models, the battletome, and the warscroll cards needed to run them.

We’ve been tracking the full Ogor Mawtribes reveal since the Big Summer Preview, and our Ogor hub has the running list of all the latest news and rumors. Now that the Army Set is here, the main questions are what the price is and the release date?

Here’s the full lineup hitting pre-order this Saturday, along with our thoughts on each release.

Ogor Mawtribes Gluttons and Battletome

This is the main release from this Sunday’s preview. The Ogor Mawtribes Army Set includes a Tyrant, two Maulbeast Cavalry, three Ironguts, and 10 Gluttons. It also comes with the Ogor Mawtribes Battletome featuring a box-exclusive cover and a set of 52 warscroll cards.

The Maulbeast Cavalry stand out most for sure, as Ogor players have been using the same mounted models for years. So brand-new monstrous cavalry is a major part of this refresh. Add the Tyrant, and you’ve already got the core of a warglutt before buying anything else. If the Scrapglutt Spearhead was the smaller entry point, this is the proper army starter set for sure.

The set is delayed in Australia and New Zealand, so players there should check with local stores instead of relying on the standard pre-order date. Everywhere else, the new battletome and its rules are a big part of the value too, not just the models.

Ogor Mawtribes Army Set Hobby Tips

Build the Gluttons and Ironguts in subassemblies before priming. Leave the torsos off the legs so you can reach the gutplates and belly details with a brush. Pin the Maulbeast riders to their mounts before gluing because the contact points are small for models this heavy. Also, leave the Tyrant’s head and weapon arm loose until the body is painted, since those deep recesses will be hard to reach once he’s fully assembled.

Legions Imperialis: New Pre-Order Releases

The latest pre-orders for Horus Heresy: Legions Imperialis are here, adding more weapons and war machines to the epic-scale battlefield.

New Titan Weapon Sets

  • Warlord Titan with Quake Cannon and Conversion Beam Extirpator
  • Warlord Titan with Volkite Destructor and Macro-gatling Blaster

Three new Titan weapon loadouts are coming. There’s a Warlord Titan with a Quake Cannon and Conversion Beam Extirpator, a Warlord with a Volkite Destructor and Macro-gatling Blaster, and a Reaver Titan with a Graviton Obliterator and Volkite Annihilator.

All three weapon sets will also be sold separately. Anyone who already owns a Warlord or Reaver can add the new loadouts without buying another full Titan. The Titan Battle Group is still the better starting point for a new collection, while these sets are aimed at upgrading Titans you already own.

These releases are delayed in Japan, so keep that in mind when ordering there.

New Titan Weapon Sets Hobby Tips

Magnetize the weapon mounts 100%. The arm joints can take a small magnet without much cutting, which lets one Warlord swap between the Quake Cannon and Volkite loadouts. Prime the model dark and dry-fit the large carapace plates before gluing. The Warlord’s shoulders hide several seams that are difficult to reach after assembly.

Middle-earth Battle Strategy Game: New Pre-Order Releases

The latest Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game releases are here, with returning miniatures and heroes from Tolkien’s setting. Every qualifying purchase helps Spikey Bits keep the lights on.

Middle-earth Made to Order Miniatures

  • Uruk-Hai Commanders sets
  • Battering Ram
  • 12 Uruk-Hai Scouts
  • Rohan Commanders

This is a Made-to-Order run, so these are classic kits returning for a limited window rather than new releases. Anyone missing pieces from an Uruk-Hai or Rohan collection gets another chance to order them.

The lineup includes two separate Uruk-Hai Commanders sets, each with a Captain and a Warrior with Banner. There’s also an Uruk-Hai Battering Ram, a set of 12 Uruk-Hai Scouts from Amon Hen, and two Rohan Commanders defending against Isengard.

Made-to-Order kits are sold directly by GW and can take roughly 180 days to arrive. These models don’t return often, so don’t leave an order until the window closes.

Black Library: New Pre-Order Releases

The latest Black Library pre-order titles are here, including a Mephiston boxed set and a new Warhammer World diorama book.

Mephiston: The Box Set (Limited Edition)

Mephiston The Box Set Limited Edition Black Library

The new Limited Edition set follows Mephiston, Chief Librarian of the Blood Angels, through three novels by Darius Hinks: Blood of Sanguinius, Revenant Crusade, and City of Light.

Each book has a red-and-black cover, and all three come packed in a presentation slipcase. It’s a limited run available while stocks last, so waiting for a later restock probably isn’t the best idea here.

Book of Dioramas: Fifth Edition

Warhammer World Book of Dioramas Fifth Edition

The Book of Dioramas collects photos of the display pieces at Warhammer World, along with designer notes, trivia, and the narrative background behind each build.

This is more of a painting-and-display book than a gaming purchase. It works as a standalone collection of Warhammer dioramas and as a companion for anyone planning a trip to Warhammer World.

Final Thoughts on Ogor Mawtribes Pre-Orders

Sunday Preview Ogor Mawtribes on the warpath

The Ogor Mawtribes have spent years relying on the same small group of kits, but now this Army Set with refreshed models, new cavalry, a battletome, and warscroll cards finally gives the faction a proper new starting point.

GW has also said this isn’t the end of the Ogor reveals. Two more are teased for tomorrow, including at least one larger rider on an even larger mount. We’d expect the individual kits and possibly a Spearhead to follow the Army Set, given how GW usually handles range refreshes.
