Morga the Mighty Stomps in as Ogor Mawtribes’ New Boss

Morga the Mighty stomps into Age of Sigmar as the new Ogor Mawtribes Overtyrant, and she’s the most powerful Ogor alive.

The Meatfist has a proper warlord to go along with all the new models. Morga the Mighty is the new Overtyrant for the Ogor Mawtribes, and she’s the massive centerpiece this release wave has been building toward.

Anyone following the Ogor Mawtribes reveals could tell a big-name character was coming. Now she’s here, joining the army in 4th Edition Age of Sigmar alongside earlier reveals like Grell Firefist.

The Mawtribes finally have a clear boss, and it looks like she’s planning to eat anything standing below her.

ARTICLE SUMMARY:
  • New Overtyrant: Morga the Mighty is the Ogor Mawtribes’ new named warlord and the crowned champion of the Gulping God.
  • One kit, two warlords: the multi-part plastic kit builds either Morga or a generic glutthorn-riding Tyrant.
  • Rules and release: the warscroll is in the new Battletome: Ogor Mawtribes, which first arrives in the Army Set going up for pre-order Saturday.

Morga the Mighty Runs the Meatfist Like She Owns It

Morga is the Overtyrant of the Meatfist and GW says she’s the most powerful and influential Ogor alive. A conclave of Butchers also named her the champion of the Gulping God, though she doesn’t seem particularly interested in the title. All she cares about is conquest and eating, which is about as direct as an ogor warlord gets.

Lore-wise, her father kept control in Ghur by making deals with more civilized factions. Morga threw that approach out and rules through cruelty, strength, and cunning instead. She draws in rival tribes with promises of plunder, then leaves one of her vicious offspring nearby to keep them loyal. It gives the Ogor Mawtribes a much clearer command structure under her and adds a stronger bit of character to this release wave as well.

The Glutthorn Grutta Does Half the Work

But to be fair, the mount is a major part of this kit. Morga rides a glutthorn named Grutta, and GW makes it clear that the beast does plenty of the killing itself. Most enemies are trampled before Morga swings her cleaver, while anything that fights back has to get through Grutta’s thick hide.

Ogor Tyrant on glutthorn build option from the Morga the Mighty kit

Best of all, Morga also isn’t the only build in the box. The same kit can make a generic Tyrant riding a glutthorn, with a choice of helmeted or a bare head. You can also decide whether the mount wears heavy armor plates across its shoulders (we’ll have to see whether you can magnetize the options).

That gives the kit several useful options and is perfect for players deciding how to run Ogor Mawtribes at 2,000 points. Plus, it can also sit alongside ranged threats like Grell Firefist from earlier in the wave.

The Rules Land With the New Battletome and Army Set

The main value here is simple as one box can build either of two warlords, and you don’t have to choose until you start assembling it. Being able to make Morga or a generic Tyrant from the same kit gives players more flexibility for the money.

The rules were missing from the reveal, but Warscrolls for the new units will be in the new Battletome: Ogor Mawtribes, which first arrives inside the Ogor Mawtribes Army Set going up for pre-order this Saturday. Our Ogor Mawtribes rules review covers where the faction currently stands before the release.

Final Thoughts on Morga the Mighty

Well, overall, the model and lore are out, but the warscroll is still missing. GW’s holding the actual rules back as the Army Set heads toward pre-order weekend.

So either way, Saturday is the date to watch. Based on the rest of this wave, the Meatfist is getting a serious update, and we’ll break down Morga’s warscroll once it’s officially available.
