Age of Sigmar at AdeptiCon 2026 felt less like a normal event hall and more like a full-on hobby showcase. Players brought armies that looked like they belonged behind glass, with glowing OSL effects, ridiculously smooth blends, wild display boards, and the kind of little details that make you stop and stare longer than you meant to.
These were some of our favorite painted AoS armies from the event. So if you are looking for hobby inspiration, paint scheme ideas, or just want to check out some seriously good work, these showcases are worth your time.

Here is a quick preview of some of the armies we caught at the event. Keep an eye out, because more in-depth features on these hobby masterpieces are on the way.
Lumineth Realm-lords With a Showcase-Level Finish
This Lumineth Realm-lords force looked incredible from pretty much every angle. The terrain piece on the board grabbed your attention right away, but once you started looking closer, there was just as much care put into every single model. The skin tones, the cloaks, the armor, all of it looked crisp and deliberate.
It had that polished, high-end fantasy look Lumineth armies are supposed to have, but without feeling sterile. Everything still had character, and the whole display came together like a proper centerpiece army rather than just a collection of nicely painted units.
Fyreslayers With a Green Flame Twist

Once the smoke effects kicked in, the whole thing really came alive. It looked great on the table, felt different from the usual take on the faction, and had enough presence to make opponents pay attention before the first dice even rolled.
Daughters of Khaine as if Khaine Won

Between the strong brushwork, the bold theme, and the display board tying it all together, this was one of those armies that immediately told a story. You did not need an explanation standing next to it to get the vibe.
Soulblight Gravelords With a Frozen Spectral Look

The snow-covered display board really sealed the deal, too. It pulled the whole army together and made it feel like these vampires and spirits were marching straight out of some cursed winter graveyard.
Kharadron Overlords Converted Into Full Goblin-Rider Chaos

If you are looking for inspiration on how to rework an entire army instead of just tossing a few head swaps on a unit and calling it done, this was the one to study. Every piece felt like part of the same big idea, and that kind of consistency is what really made it stand out.
Maggotkin of Nurgle Straight Out of the Garden

What really worked was how the grime did not just look slapped on. It felt deliberate. The whole army had that swollen, diseased, festering look Nurgle fans want, and it still read clearly enough that you could appreciate all the work that went into it.
Orruk Warclans Bringing the Heat in Red

It had the kind of look that felt simple in concept but tough to pull off well, and this army managed it. Nothing felt flat, and the bold scheme gave the whole force a real smash-first, ask-questions-never kind of energy.
Disciples of Tzeentch Done Right in Blue and Gold

What made it work was how cohesive it all felt. Tzeentch armies can sometimes get messy fast if the colors do not land, but this one kept everything sharp and readable while still feeling flashy and over the top.
Seraphon Packed With Color and Big Dinosaur Energy

Big lizards always help, obviously, but this army was doing more than just throwing dinosaurs at the problem. The paintwork helped each model stand out while still keeping that unmistakable Seraphon identity across the whole display.
Kharadron Overlords Taking to the Skies in Style

The display board added that extra bit of love that helps an army feel complete instead of just arranged. It was a strong reminder that even with a model range full of flying boats and armored duardin, presentation still matters a ton.
Nighthaunt on a Coffin-Shaped Display Board

The army itself looked great too, with all the ghostly details and spectral effects you would want from Nighthaunt. Still, let’s be honest, when you show up with a coffin board, you know exactly what you are doing.
