The Tomb Kings Army Launch Box for Warhammer the Old World has been leaked with pretty clear pictures of the contents!
At this point, it feels like it’s been a really long time since GW announced Warhammer the Old World would be coming way back in 2019. However, we’re finally on the brink of the game actually coming to the tabletop! Not only has GW been dropping a bunch of rules for the game, but now we have pictures of an army box in the wild!Â
Tomb Kings Army Box Leaked: Warhammer The Old World
The Tomb Kings Army Box pictures were spotted all over, but these come from Reddit.
First, remember, GW said the game will have plenty of the old miniatures, so don’t expect boxes like this to have completely new stuff inside. While these were technically rumors; as it looked like someone took this pic from their phone from what we assume to be a GW warehouse, we know this is the actual Tomb Kings Launch Army box for Warhammer the Old World.
Tomb Kings Launch Army Box Set Contents:
The Liche Priests have exhumed a horde of 93 Tomb Kings miniatures, including the magnificent new Liche Priest on Necrolith Bone Dragon (which can additionally build a Tomb King on foot, or be built instead as a Tomb King on Bone Dragon). The rest is made up of enough classic kits to create an army fit for Settra himself – 40 Skeleton Warriors, 32 Skeleton archers, 16 Skeleton Horsemen, and three Skeleton Chariots.Â
The Age of Darkness box for Horus Heresy retails for $310, and that box comes with 54 miniatures compared to the 93 in the Tomb Kings Army Box. With the model count inside, we are shocked that the retail price is $290 for the Tomb Kings Army Box. Perhaps they are being generous on the price to hype up Warhammer The Old World (TOW)? Let’s hope so; as they said this box contains a 1,250-point army.
There was also a rumor that the price would be the same as the Age of Darkness set, making it around USD $300 / 180£ GBP. If you notice, the new Army box looks to contain basically two of the old Battalion boxes bundled together from back before Warhammer Fantasy went away.

The old Warhammer Fantasy Battalion boxes were morphed into Start Collecting boxes in 2016, which then became Combat Patrols (40k) and Vanguard Boxes (for AoS). With the Vanguard Boxes retailing at $140, doubling that did mean that the rumor of $300 for the launch box of Tomb Kings for Warhammer The Old World was at least feasible.
